As I was heading home from Texas, I decided to revisit the USS Texas and to my disappointment, the park had closed. My understanding is that the USS Texas is in dire need of overhauling and will be heading to a shipyard one day for repairs. At least what I am hoping for the remaining WWI era dreadnought Battleship with an impressive history. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Texas_(BB-35). While there I decided to visit the 567.31 foot high monument commemorating the Battle of San Jacinto. What a sight and quite the engineering feat. This whole area is interesting, from a very busy maritime shipping lane to the nearby industries in unison with nature and this nestled worthwhile visit. Check out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Jacinto_Monument Not sure the fate of this area but encourage you to visit and if capable donating to the National parks. These are dying treasures honoring our past and should never be forgotten or re-written. Hope you enjoyed the video...
