Ciurana de Tarragona can be considered as one of the most beautiful towns in the province. Seated on a huge limestone rock and surrounded by the torrent of Estopiñá, presides over a magnificent panoramic view of the valley of the Ciurana River and its reservoir. Ciurana de Tarragona was declared a picturesque spot in 1961. Its natural landscapes include rock formations such as the Siuranella twin rock, the Salto de la Reina Mora or La Trona, and the cliffs of Arbolí, frequented by climbing enthusiasts. Siurana is flanked by the Montsant mountain range, and by peaks such as Gritella (1,089m) and Gallicant (1,028m). Siurana de Prades or Ciurana de Tarragona is located on the eastern edge of the Sierra de Prades, 737m above sea level, on a peninsula-shaped mountain that dominates the valleys of the Siurana and Cornudella rivers. It is reached by a paved road from the town of Cornudella, and also by a forest road from Prades. It can also be reached on foot by several paths and paths, often used by neighbors, climbers and hikers. Since 1942 it is part of the municipality of Cornudella de Montsant.
