I remember being called a daydreamer for reasons that escape me but I do remember laying on grassy knolls often peering into the sky as though I was waiting for something. I would see all kinds of things really, clouds that looked like animals, dragonflies hovering, birds frolicking, occasional plane destination unknown and at those moments I would find myself most at peace. Not sure I had any relevant thought provoking epiphany, just would lay there for hours. Sometimes into the night and on clear night, man was it a busy sky. Stars, shooting stars, satellites, planes, occasional lightning and unidentifiable and will leave the latter alone. I think ET has been visiting this earth longer than we think..... This statue caught my attention the last time I visited Forest park and remained in the back of my mind for a few years now. It remains and continues to awe me back to my childhood. The James S. McDonnell planetarium is where this statue is situated and here is a little on the statue: 33-Foot-Tall Tin Foil Alien A tall, skinny, tin foil alien is looking up as if he's lost and hoping he might soon get a ride back home. Rather ironic that most humans use tin foil to protect themselves from aliens and harmful outer space radiation waves. This is actually a 33-foot, 7,000-pound polished stainless steel sculpture titled "Looking Up" by St. Louis artist Tom Friedman. It was installed in 2017. Many visitors will probably stand in the same pose, looking up, pondering what might be out there in the universe.
