Sunrise at Slug’s Bay with Craig & the Hang

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Top AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Duncan DroneNuts put together this beautiful aerial piece from the northern end of the island of Malta. The video was filmed in a spot called Slug's Bay, which is an inlet of the much larger Mellieha Bay. Also known as Għadira Bay, Mellieha Bay is the northernmost of the bays and inlets which run up and down the eastern coast of the island. Slugs Bay is situated on the north side of the larger body of water, which is generally regarded as having the best beaches on this important Mediterranean island.

Note from Craig : Malta is a tiny place in the middle of the Mediterranean with many beautiful spots. This tiny rock holds a special place in my heart and it’s full of beautiful friends I made while growing up there. It’s 4am in the morning, we all wake from a snooze after having planned to head to Slug’s bay in the north of the island to catch the sunrise as I play my Hang in this beautiful location. Duncan manning the drone, Dean on sound and Ingrid with her pooch Taya providing early morning smiles, we set up and I prepared to play to the rising sun - to welcoming the day. In the video I am playing my Pantheon Steel Halo Hang in Dflat Major scale. Softly I worked into a jam, the fish woke up, we enjoyed the calm of the day and the sound of the water against the rocks.
