THE WORLD'S third MOST BEAUTIFUL BUILDING - Exeter Cathedral

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top contributor seb-depp brings us this excellent air/ground video of Exeter Cathedral, one of the UK's most famous churches.  Located in its namesake town in County Devon in South West England, the construction on the building began in the early 12th century, shortly after the Norman Conquest, but it didn't take on its present shape until around 1400.  Among its distinguishing features is the largest continuous stone ceiling of any building of Medieval Europe.  The cathedral sustained heavy damage in a bombing raid during World War II.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

After Lincoln and Salisbury Cathedral this is - to me - the most beautiful building in the world - the west window earns the title of the most beautiful window there is. Building started in 1112 - from this phase there are still the two towers that form the crossing. Because of this construction it was possible to construct the world's longest rib vaulting when the church was rebuilt from 1270 to 1369.
