England - Liverpool's Cathedrals

The seventh day of my West Midlands journey: We start off at Old Oswestry Hill Fort, a huge fort of three concentric defensive rings from around 800 BC, used over many centuries, even in the 20th century as a military training ground. It can only really be appreciated from the air. Beeston Castle is an impressive structure: A hill occupied from the bronze age, its defenses modernized around 1220. Chester Cathedral was a former abbey and consecrated as a cathedral after the abbey's dissolution. Most parts visible today date from 1283 onwards.Chester Amphitheatre from Roman times is nice enough from the sky.Chester Castle was closed when I was there. Parts are still used as a court building.Liverpool has two modern cathedrals: The Anglican in a sort of gothic revival style was built from 1904 to 1978 and is the largest in Britain. The footage doesn't really show it but to me it has the charm of a railway station. Liverpool's Roman Catholic Cathedral though, on a crypt started in the 1930s and redesigned 1962 does have charm: From the inside the color windows make it a truly impressive place and it's a blessing the earlier style of the crypt wasn't used for the whole building. My drone'S camera didn't focus - sorry.Bramall Hall was a bit of an afterthought (thanks to Blériot53) that I unfortunately didn't visit from the inside and just flew around. The oldest parts date from the 14th century with additions from the 16th and 19th.We wrap up the day with fpv flights into Peak Cavern Gorge (next to Peveril Castle - watch the 2022 video!) and in pretty Birch Vale.
