The Hungarian Sea / Balaton

Lake Balaton is one of the natural wonders of Hungary.  The long, narrow lake is almost 80 km end-to-end (just under 50 mi.), but is only 14 km at its widest (around 8 mi.).  Covering about 600 square km (around 230 square mi.), it's the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe.  It serves as the rough boundary between the Transdanubian Mountain region to the north and the edge of the Great Hungarian Plain to the south.  One of Hungary's most popular resort destinations, you can check it out from above in this drone video by superstar pictures.
