Sardegna World takes you to the SOUTH-West of Sardinia, precisely to Masua, where we will show you a spectacular sunset!!Pan di Zucchero stands in the magnificent inlet of Masua, a small mining center on the Iglesia coast. It is a splendid cambric limestone rock originating from marine erosion which led to its isolation from the mainland (Punta Is Cicalas). Its massive and rounded shape (133 m high) recalls in some ways the famous Pao de Azucar of the bay of Rio de Janeiro, hence the name of Sugar Loaf, which already at the end of the 18th century replaced the local Sardinian one (Concali on Terràinu). Rainwater, with its solvent action on the carbonate rocks, has produced important karst phenomena, such as the two tunnel-shaped caves that open at sea level.Sardegna World wish you a good viewing!!
