Between Gondomar and Valongo stands the last sanatorium inaugurated in the country. The Mont'Alto sanatorium, better known as the Valongo Sanatorium, which operated between 1958 and 1975. A stately building in the middle of the forest, which after being closed was vandalized and destroyed. There are basically only walls and history left. At this moment this huge abandoned building is used for photographic sessions, various games (paintball, airsoft, among others), search for spirits etc ... In this Sanatorium about 65 thousand people died, and for that reason many people look for in this building paranormal activities. Apart from being huge, on the one hand it is scary but on the other hand also serves for beautiful photographic sessions, being a place of much demand for photographers.
