ULLA–DEZA | Between Stone and Water

Deep in the heart of Galicia, Spain, the Ulla–Deza river system hides a landscape where history and nature have shared the same space for centuries.

This aerial journey takes us to two remarkable places near Silleda, Pontevedra: the ancient Monastery of San Lourenzo de Carboeiro and the spectacular Fervenza do Toxa.

Surrounded by dense Galician forest and embraced by the Deza River, Carboeiro Monastery traces its origins back to the 10th century and remains one of the most fascinating historic landmarks in the area.

Just a few kilometers away, water takes center stage at Fervenza do Toxa, where the Toxa River plunges dramatically through rock and forest, creating one of Galicia's most impressive waterfalls.
