Urquhart Castle by Loch Ness

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Check out this drone video of a famous Scottish castle on the shores of the fabled Loch Ness, compliments of contributor Albacross Imaging.  Consructed in the 13th century on the ruins of an earlier fortification, Urquhart Castle is one of the largest in Scotland.  Captured by English King Edward I in 1296, the castle went on to play an important role in the Scottish Wars of Indepdendence which followed.  Urquart was virtually destroyed by pro-Stuart forces in one of the first Jacobite Risings in 1692.
