Arrington Mill:  I accidentally discovered the mill while travelling through Dearing, GA.  Not knowing its name or exact location I made an Internet search and located Arrington Mill.  The search revealed stunning images by Brian Brown Photography, however there is minimal information about the mill’s history except it was built circa 1920, on private property, and might be the site of an operational mill.

Arriving on site turned disappointing because the water supply flowing from Fort Creek to the mill had been restricted upstream and what remained was an overgrown creek bed with marsh grasses and cypress tree stumps. While deciding how to photograph the altered site a local woman from the area showed up and gave me a brief history about the loss of water to the mill.  Her most interesting comment was how many fish died during the drainage and how for days the area was inundated with turkey vultures feeding on the carrion. I think this video documentary of the mill can add to the longevity of the history of the mill and is an update as to its present condition.
