Fontanelle Estate - the Club House - Villa Picciola

OUR STORYIt was 1999 when Giuseppina Bolfo first set eyes on an antique farmhouse in the hills of Castelnuovo Berardenga. It took seven years to carefully and respectfully renovate the structure, maintaining the energy in its massive stone exterior, building with wood from the region and delicately adding refined terracotta pavements aligned with the classic style of Chianti.Thus in 2006 Hotel Le Fontanelle became a unique place, which, thanks to a refined and gentle welcome, offers a more authentic and immersive experience of Chianti. In 2022, the foresight and determination of Giuseppina Bolfo led to the opening of The Club House, which is an impressive restoration of a magnificent 18th century place, positioned in an enchanting location, with a breathtaking view.

ABOUT USThis is a story of a family. Giuseppina Bolfo’s tenacious love for the hills of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the meticulous and expeditious work of her great-nephew Nicola Vercellotti in taking care of every detail, the creativity and enthusiasm of the General Manager Phoebe Farolfi, who makes sure that every element is respectful of the past but is at the same time able to look with determination to the future.

THE PROJECTThe Bolfo family arrived in Chianti in 1970. From that moment a strong and never-ending  bond formed with this wonderful land, where man and nature coexist in timeless elegance and beauty. Thus a project was born, which in the following fifty years saw the laying of the first stone for the construction of the farmhouse Sole di Sesta, in the 1990s. The project continued with Hotel Le Fontanelle in 2006, the Vallepicciola winery in 2016 and the most recent The Club House in 2022. Everything here was built through the collaboration of Margherita Gozzi, an architect capable of creating unique works respecting the territory and nature of Tuscany. Ever since the beginning, the aim has always been to enhance unity and beauty through a decisively respectful approach to land and people. The Club House, Hotel Le Fontanelle and Vallepicciola are today all part of Fontanelle Estate brand. There are other structures currently under construction, including an 11th century parish church.
