Iceland Volcano Eruption.Stunning drone footage: stunning up close view of bubbling molten lava inside the Crater.
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Safe and relatively inexpensive, consumer drones are allowing us to see our world in ways which were heretofore impossible. Case in point is this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor dona1. He was able to get up close and personal with Iceland's Fagradalsfjall volcano, which began spewing lava in March of 2021. Located on the Reykjanes Peninsula near Reykjavik in the southwestern part of the island, the video is believed to herald a return to a period of active volcanic peninsula in the region after centuries of quiet.

The broader Fagradalsfjall volcanic system comprises an area of eruptive fissures (fissure swarm), cones and lava fields in the southern part of the Reykjanes peninsula. A strong seismic crisis began in the area near Fagradalsfjall since late Feb 2021, interpreted as intrusion of magma at shallow depth. This led to the first historic eruption of the volcano on 19 March 2021.
