Kote Betta (translates to Fort Hill), situated about 15 Kms from Madikeri, Coorg distrct, Karnataka, India is one of the 3 highest peaks in the region with an elevation of 1620 meters. This place has significance in Hindu mythology. It is believed that the Pandavas from the epic Mahabharata spent a substantial amount of time during their exile in this region.
This hilly region is extremely famous for its splendid, lush green forests and the majestic Western Ghats. Several coffee plantations, spice estates as well as jackfruit gardens can also be found here. The 360-degree view from the top of the hill is mesmerizing.
