Lanyu Island, an Island Suitable for Relaxation and Enjoyment

(around 65 km) east of the southern tip of the main island of Taiwan, just north of the Strait of Luzon which separates Taiwan from the Philippines.  Part of Taitung County, the island has a permanent population of around 5k.  Volcanic in origin, the island has mountains which reach up to 1.8k ft. above sea level (around 550 m).
