Perched on the hills overlooking the southern shores of Lake Garda, Italy, the medieval fortress of Rocca di Lonato stands as a magnificent testament to centuries of history. [1]In this video, I wanted to push the boundaries of traditional aerial cinematography by exploring this massive fortification through the immersive capabilities of the DJI Avata 360. Flying close to the ancient stone walls and towers, the 360-degree dual-lens system allowed me to capture unique vantage points and fluid spatial perspectives that are impossible with standard drones. [1, 2, 3]The entire sequence was shot in 8K resolution to preserve every architectural detail of the castle. In post-production, I heavily focused on dynamic reframing to create seamless transitions, keyframed camera orbits, and wide-angle perspective shifts that showcase the relationship between the fortress and the surrounding Italian landscape.
