SINCE THE FIRST SHOT

Since the First Shot is a film that is very close to my heart. Not only because of the breathtaking landscapes I was fortunate to witness and capture through my lens, but because it is also deeply connected to the child I once was. Ever since I was young, I had a strong passion for filming, editing, and everything related to creating videos. At the time, it felt like a strange feeling to carry, because no one around me shared the same excitement. In 2011, my father saw how much this meant to me and bought me my first camera. From that moment on, the camera went everywhere with me. Fifteen years later, I took the step to bring a dream from my younger self to life. Since the First Shot reflects that journey the path from a child imagining stories behind a camera to creating a film that represents that same passion. The film was captured across several countries in Europe as well as in the Negev desert, adding a completely different landscape and atmosphere to the project. I spent months searching for unique locations, hiking to remote places, and returning again and again to capture the right moment. Many of the shots required hiking in complete darkness before sunrise or descending mountains long after sunset, often in harsh weather conditions. This was without a doubt the most difficult part of the project. But every single shot in the film carries its own story and memory for me. The project took over a year to plan and film, and every bit of effort was worth it to share three minutes of the beauty I experienced with the world. If this film taught me one thing, it is that dreams we carry from a young age can eventually become reality. Sometimes it takes years, patience, and persistence but if the passion is strong enough, the vision can come to life. In my case, it took fifteen years. Since the First Shot is not only a film about landscapes. It is also a reflection of where the journey began, and a step toward pushing myself even further to create new films and continue exploring the world through my lens.
