Steam Train R711 departs Southern Cross Station (Melbourne) + West Gate Tunnel Works

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : In this outstanding drone video by top AirVuz contributor Gizmo Drones, you'll see a historic steam train as it heads out of Melbourne, Australia into the hinterlands of the state of Victoria. The train is departing from Southern Cross Station, one of the most important rail stations in Australia's second-largest city, which is located in the recently re-developed Docklands area along the Yarra River. The train is headed for the city of Bendigo, which is located about 90 mi. (around 150 km) north of Melbourne.

This video is for train lovers as it captures Steamrail Victoria's first trip this year (2024) as a R711 steam train departs Melbourne for Bendigo on Sunday 31st March 2024. The foggy sunrise with the steam from the train gave the morning a vintage vibe. There are some shots of the West Gate Tunnel road works at the end of the video.
