The Lanzarote that makes you fall in love

This video is my love letter to Lanzarote, in the Canary islands. These are a group of images collected throughout the last 3-4 years edited to be this 4 minute video where I try to tell the world my own message. And this message is cried out to no man´s land where there is way too many videos and other interests. This is more or less what I try to explain with my own words...or images: Lanzarote is the most eastern island of the Canarias, and its main income is tourism. The type of tourism coming is at the same time the salvation to the island economy and a future hanging rope. I am in no way against tourism. But what I keep seeing is more and more people coming to this little place where politicians and hotel bussinessmen see a gold mine with fast money getting into their pockets. Meanwhile, traditional jobs in the islands keep getting buried making Lanzarote with no differentiation to other places, house prices keep getting up while salaries keep going down. And to me, it seems like no one in or out the island cares. There are ENGLISH CAPTIONS with my (hopefully somehow poetic) text/narration just in case someone cares reading/listening. Many hours were invested in this video with the final goal of expressing that there is much more in our island than just bars, sun and beaches. And that the more hidden part of Lanzarote is what makes you fall in love with it. But hey, no one is going to watch it and much less read this. Sadness, powerlessness and hopelessness is what I don´t want to feel and keep on feeling. So that is why I throw this video of mine to the world´s face. To yell until I have no more energy knowing no one is going to listen. It is a weird feeling, I will admit.
