Top contributor haussmannvisuals brings us this stunning drone video from the volcanoes of Lanzarote, part of Spain's Canary Islands chain off the coast of Africa.  Like the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote was created by volcanic activity arising from the breakup of two tectonic plates.  It is quite young, having emerged from the Atlantic Ocean about 15 million years ago: a mere blink of the eye in geological terms.  Lanzarote's highest point (Peñas del Chache) has a maximum elevation of about 2.2k ft. above sea level (about 670 m).   

Former DVOW Winner Nico Lehr used a DJI Mini 4 Pro to create this marvelous aerial video of the Spanish island of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands chain located off the coast of Northern Africa.  The video features spectacular shots of the island's highly varied coastline and the towns and cities which lie along it, as well as of the island's volcanic interior.  At the 2:22 mark, you'll see Mt. Teide off in the distance; with a summit altitude of 12.2k ft. above sea level (3.7k m) it's the highest mountain on Spanish soil.   

Top AirVuz contributor scuervo.traveler earned a spot as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist with this excellent drone video from two of the lesser known islands of Spain's Canary Islands archipelago: La Palma and La Gomera.  La Palma is the northwesternmost of the principal eight islands of the Canaries.  Like its siblings, it is volcanic in origin, and its Cumbre Vieja volcanic ridge erupted as recently as 2021.  La Gomera, also located on the western side of the chain, is one of the smallest and least-populous of the main islands.  

Multiple time Drone Video of the Week Winner Jan Barančík - DronistaCZ brings us this magnificent drone video from the island of Tenerife, part of the Canary Islands.  Shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 2, the video reveals the stunning beauty of the island, the largest and most populous of the Spanish archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  The "star" of the show is Mt. Teide, whose summit at 12.2k ft. above sea level (3.7k m) is the highest point on Spanish territory; measured from its base on the ocean floor, it's 24.6k ft. tall (7.5k m).   

AirVuz contributor and pilot scuervo.traveler brings us this marvelous drone video from La Gomera, one of the smaller main islands of Spain's Canary Islands.  The video was filmed around the Mirador de Abrante viewpoint, which lies on the northern side of the island.  The video provides excellent views of the "red lands" around the scenic vista.  In the shots facing to the north, you'll be able to see Tenerife, the largest and most populous of the Canaries, which lie off the coast of Northern Africa.  

Former DVOW Winner Łukasz Jaros brings us this stunning drone travel video of Gran Canaria, one of Spain's Canary Islands.  Created with aerial footage from a DJI Mavic 3 drone as well as ground camera footage, the video highlights the extremely diverse landscapes of Gran Canaria, which lies in the middle of the archipelago.  Most of the footage highlights two of these landscapes: the Maspalomas sand dunes, which lie at Gran Canaria's southern tip, and the volcanic mountains which cover much of its northern ,western and central parts.  

Lanzarote is the northernmost and easternmost of the Canary Islands, which are part of Spain but lie off the coast of North Africa.  Like its sister islands, Lanzarote is volcanic in origin and an infant in geological terms - it was only about 15 million years ago that it surfaced above the ocean.  In this DVOW nominated video by sergiosigler, you'll get to see some of the highlights of Lanzarote from above.  Much of the video was filmed in and around Timanfaya National Park, in the center-west of the island. 

Top contributor AIRFLIX returns to AirVuz after a two year hiatus with this fantastic drone video from the Canary Islands, which was picked for a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot in May of 2022.  The video was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro 3 drone over Gran Canaria, which is the second-most populous and third-largest in land area amongst the islands, which are located off the coast of North Africa and which are sovereign territory of Spain. The video will take you over the island's coastline as well as its mountainous interior.  

AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Lucaputzer brings us this fantastic drone video of Tenerife, the largest and most populous member of Spain's Canary Islands archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  Fimed with a DJI Mavic Pro 3 drone, the video opens with a beautiful view of the Roque Cinchado rock formation in th middle of the island, with Mt. Teide (Spain's highest mountain) in the background.  Other highlights include the town of Puerto de la Cruz, on the island's northern side, as well as some magnificent coastline shots.  

Top AirVūz contributor and drone pilot PinpinBobis used his DJI Mavic Pro 2 to create this stunning masterpiece of the canyons of Grand Canary Island (Gran Canaria).  Gran Canaria is the second-most populous of the Canary Islands, the Atlantic Ocean archipelago off the coast of Northern Africa which is part of Spain.  Gran Canaria is also called the "miniature continent" due to its unique variety of landscapes and climates. This video earned a Drone Video of the Week nomination in October of  2020. 

AirVuz contributor and pilot David.Haring brings us this stunning drone video of a volcanic eruption in Spain's Canary Islands.  The eruption began in September, 2021 on a volcanic ridge known as Cumbre Vieja on La Palma, one of the smaller members of this archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  The eruption continued for about three months, requiring the evacuation of thousands and destroying the town of Todoque with its 2.3 mi. wide (3.6 km) lava flow that eventually reached the sea and formed a new peninsula to the island.  

Fuerteventura is not the busiest or largest of Spain's Canary Islands, but many believe it to be the most beautiful.  Located at the western end of this archipelago, closest to the North African mainland, Fuerteventura is known for its spectacular sand dunes and beaches.  In this drone video by top contributor PinpinBobis, which was selected as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist, you'll experience the beauty of this magical land from above.  The video features footage of the Corralejo Sand Dunes, the Morro Jable Lighthouse, and more.   

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Canarias Dron brings us this fantastic drone video of the island of Gran Canaria.  Gran Canaria is the largest (by area) of the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  Located in the middle of the chain, Gran Canaria is volcanic in origin and an infant in geological terms - most of the island was formed during the Miocene period, between 9-14 million years ago.  Much of the footage of the video is from the island's rocky interior.  

Top contributor dronetrip created this fantastic DVOW-nominated aerial video of Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands off the coast of North Africa.  The video opens with a spectacular shot of Mt. Teide, the principal mountain of the island, whose peak elevation of 3.7k meters (about 12.2k ft.) is the highest on any Spanish territory.  From there you will be taken over more of the most spectacular spots on the island, which is home to about 45% of the Canaries' total population of a bit over 2 million.  

Brand-new contributor Thibault_L brings us this fantastic drone video from Spain's Canary Islands, which are located off the coast of North Africa.  Filmed on the islands of Gran Canaria and Lanzarote,  the video was created with aerial footage from a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone and a first person view (FPV) drone, with some nice ground camera shots mixed in.  Gran Canaria, which lies in the middle of the archipelago, is the second-most populous of the Canaries and third-largest by land area.  Lanzarote is #3 in population and #4 in land area.  

Gran Canaria is one of the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa. The Spanish island is known for its black lava and white sand beaches like Playa del Inglés and Las Canteras Beach. It is also home to the protected area of Maspalomas Dunes and Roque Nublo, the iconic rock formation and vista. Behold this stunning drone video from Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, which was a DVOW finalist in June 2019, compliments of top contributor BeemFlights.  Lanzarote is the easternmost of the seven main islands of this archipelago, which is a semi-autonomous region of Spain situated off the coast of North Africa.  The fourth-largest by land area third most populous of the Canaries, Lanzarote has become something of an eco-tourism magnet.  It's best known for the Timanfaya National Park and its volcanic-origin soil.  

Check out this fantastic drone video from the Spanish island of Fuerteventura  by AirVuz contributor koszoandras_photography.  The second-largest of the Canary Islands by land area (after Tenerife), Fuerteventura is one of the closest to the North African coastline.  Relatively sparsely populated compared to Tenerife and Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura has become a popular ecotourist destination.  The entire island has been classified as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.  This video was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist.  

The second largest of the Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is a popular tourist destination because of its white-sand beaches and year-round warm temperatures coupled with its constant cooling winds. Situated in the Atlantic Oean just 60 miles off the coast of Africa, this gorgeous island is known for its excellent water sport conditions. IVAL PhotoVideo combined nearly 200 videos to create this piece that highlights the island from the perspective of the Mavic 2 Pro.  This was a DVOW Finalist in March, 2019.

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Canarias dron brings us this stunning drone video of a recently-erupted volcano in Spain's Canary Islands.  The volcanic ridge Cumbre Vieja on the island of La Palma began erupting on September 19, 2001.  The first eruption on the island since the early 70's, it lasted for nearly three months.  The resulting lava flow covered four square mi. (about ten square km).  The eruption destroyed approximately 3,000 structures, caused the evacuation of 7,000 people, and is blamed for one death.   

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor AmanitoMuscario brings us this excellent drone video from one of the lesser known of Spain's Canary Islands: La Palma.  Also known as La Isla Bonita, La Palma is the fifth-largest of the archipelago (which lies off the coast of North Africa), and the northwesternmost island in the group.   Most of the footage was shot over La Palma's stunning coastline.  With a population of about 80k full-time residents, the entire island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Hell's Gorge (Barranco del Infierno) is one of the natural and cultural treasures of Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands.  Seen in this outstanding drone video by contributor belogaev_art, it's a ravine located near the town of Adeje in the southern part of the island.  Access to the gorge, which features both Tenerife's highest waterfall as well as an array of caves which were once inhabited by the indigenous Guanches, is highly restricted - only 300 visitors are allowed daily, all of whom are required to wear helmets.

Puerto de la Cruz is one of the main cities on the Spanish island of Tenerife, the largest and most populous of the Canary Islands.  It's located roughly in the middle of the coastline, more or less due west from the regional capital city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which lies on the island's eastern coastline.  In this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot laureanorp, you'll get a bird's eye view of the town and its surroundings.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mini 2 drone. 

AirVuz contributor Manuel Armas brings us this excellent drone video from the Spanish island of  Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands archipelago off the North African coast.  The video was filmed over the Costa Isla Baja, which refers to the northwestern corner of the (roughly) triangle-shaped island.  This area is one of the least densely populated sections of Tenerife's coastline, roughly opposite the island from Santa Cruz de Tenerife.  It includes the municipalities of  Garachico, Los Silos, El Tanque, and Buenavista del Norte

Check out this stunning drone video from the Spanish island of Tenerife, compliments of brand-new contributor umangd.  At the :25 mark, you'll fly over Punta Brava in the town of Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife's northern coast.  Then you'll head to the town of Los Gigantes on Tenerife's western coast, so named for its giant cliff formations.  Other highlights include the port of Garachico on the northwestern shore (1:15); the town of Oratava, in the middle of the northern shore (1:37); and more.  

Candelaria, Spain is a town on the eastern coast of Tenerife, the largest and most populous of the Canary Islands off the coast of North Africa.  Seen here in this excellent drone video by new AirVuz contributor laureanorp, it's located about 10 mi. (around 17 km) southwest (along the coast) from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the de facto  capital of the Canary Islands region.  Candelaria has a permanent population of around 25k, making it one of the larger towns on the island.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mini 2 drone.  

Check out this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video from the coast of Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands.  The video was filmed near the town of San Miguel de Tajao, which is located about two-thirds of the way down Tenerife's long eastern coastline, about 30 mi. (around 50 km) south of the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.  The video opens with an amazing one-shot meandering approach to the ocean, then takes you along for a ride skimming the shoreline; at about the 1:30 mark, you'll get a glance of the town itself.  

Here's a nice drone's eye view of one of the world's most modern lighthouses, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Manuel Armas.  It's called the Buenavista Lighthouse, and it's located on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  Shaped somewhat like a corkscrew, it's located on Tenerife's northern coastline.  It stands 131 ft. tall, or about 40 m.  One of seven lighthouses on the Tenerife coastline, Buenavista was completed in 1990.  

Check out this drone video of one of the world's most unusual-looking lighthouses, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Manuel Armas.  It's called the Buenavista Lighthouse, and it's located on the island of Tenerife, the largest of Spain's Canary Islands.  Located on the island's northern coast, the corkscrew-shaped structure was completed in 1990.  It's one of seven lighthouses which ring the island, which is located off the coast of North Africa.  The tower stands 135 ft. tall, or around 41 m.  

Here's a nice aerial view of a well known giant rock formation in the Canary Islands, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot iTegel.  It's called Roque Nublo, and it's located on Gran Canaria, the second-largest of the seven main islands which make up this semi-autonomous community of Spain.  The rock is situated at about 1.8k meters above sea level (around 5.8k ft.).  It stands about 67 meters tall (about 225 ft.).  Believed to be about 4.5 million years old, the rock is located in a park near the center of the island.  

Take an aerial tour of storied Gran Canaria Island in this excellent piece by PippinBobis.  Located in the middle of the Spanish-controlled archipelago off the coast of North Africa, Gran Canaria is the second-most populous of the Canaries and the third-largest by land area.  The video features footage from the islands's coast and interior; some of the highlights include the resort town of Puerto de Mogan on the island's southwestern coast and the red-striped Punta Sardinia Lighthouse on its northwestern coast.

Gran Canaria is the second-most populated of Spain's Canary Islands, which lie off the coast of North Africa. However, the vast majority of its roughly 850k residents live on its northern and eastern coastlines. Check out these fantastic drone views from Spain's Gran Canaria island, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Canarias dron.  The video was filmed over and around the town of Sardina del Norte, which lies along a small bay on the northwestern side of the island, the second-largest (both in terms of population and land area) of the Canary Islands archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  The town consists mainly of a tiny port with an adjacent small beach.  The video was filmed with a DJI Mini 2 drone.  

When the Canary Islands were first explored by Spain beginning in the late 15th century, they were not by any means uninhabited.  Rather, the islands had been populated by the Guanches, a North African tribe which is believed to have started migrating to the islands in the first millennium BC.  One of the great remaining landmarks from this pre-Spanish culture is the ruins of La Fortaleza de Ansite on the island of Gran Canaria, which you'll see here in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot CanariasDron. 

Contributor Hamed.razzaghi created this memorable drone video of a spot on Gran Canaria in Spain's Canary Islands. Maspaloma is a town on the southern coast of the island, which lies in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean archipelago.  It is surrounded by an arid area of other-worldly beauty.  Moviegoers may see some familiar territory here; the Maspaloma sand dunes were used to film the 2010 blockbuster action movie Clash of the Titans, which grossed nearly a half billion dollars at the box office.

Of the seven Spanish Canary Islands off the coast of North Africa, Fuerteventura is the second largest. There are a few stories about how the island got its name, from a reference to the likelihood of escaping the dangerous ocean turbulence to the good luck gained from being on the island. Drone pilot Paride Musci found his own good fortune while spending a solo week armed with a DJI Mavic Pro 2, a Go Pro Hero 5, and a good eye for amazing shots; the result is this stunning travel video of the island.

Contributor and pilot Yapov brings us this beautiful drone video of the area around El Cotillo Beach on Fuerteventura, one of Spain's Canary Islands.  It's on the northwestern shore of the island, which lies near the western end of the chain.  The beach here was the primary shooting location for one of the more memorable scenes of 21st century film thus far: the (computer enhanced) "Parting of the Red Sea" sequence in Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings, one of the biggest box office hits of 2014.

Check out this short-but-stunning drone video of one of the volcanoes in Spain's Canary Islands, compliments of AirVuz contributor Dani Masaro.  Calderón Hondo is located near the northern tip of Fuerteventura, the second-largest of the Canaries in terms of land area.  The volcano is part of a chain called the Volcanes de Bayuyo, which runs across the island.  Located about 5 km (around 3 mi.) from the coast, the volcano has a maximum elevation of around 275 meters above sea level or about 900 ft.

Top AirVuz contributor Enrico Pescantini brings us this fantastic drone video of the aftermath of a large volcanic eruption in Spain's Canary Islands.  The eruption occurred in the last months of 2021 on the volcanic ridge of Cumbre Vieja on the island of La Palma, the northwesternmost of this archipelago located off the coast of North Africa.  The eruption, the longest in the recorded history of the island, forced the evacuation of 7k people and covered about four square mi. (around 10 square km) with molten lava.

(about 130 km) from the African coast, Lanzarote is home to the Timanfaya National Park, which is made up entirely of volcanic soil.  In 1993, the entire island was designated as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.  

Contributor Jeremy Taktouk used a DJI Mavic Pro 3 Cine as well as an FPV drone to create this stunning travel video from Lanzarote, one of Spain's Canary Islands.  The easternmost of the main islands, Lanzarote lies just 80 mi. (around 125 km) off the coast of North Africa.  Like the other islands, Lanzarote is volcanic in origin, having arisen from the floor of the Atlantic ocean about 15 million years ago (very recently, in geological terms).  The video features shots both of Lanzarote's coastline as well as its mountainous interior.

  brings us this amazing drone video from Lanzarote, the easternmost of the Canary Islands chain off the coast of North Africa.  Filmed with a DJI Mavic 3 drone, the video features some stunning shots of the Lanzarote coastline, which runs a length of just over 130 mi. (around 213 km) and includes a series of coastal mountains and cliffs.  At the :42 mark, you'll see the Pechiguera Lighthouse, which is located on the southwestern end of the island.  

Contributor Michael Ceber combined aerial footage from a DJI Mavic Air and ground camera footage to create this beautiful trip video from Lanzarote, one of Spain's Canary Islands off the coast of North Africa. Much of the video was filmed around Costa De Papagayo a stretch of coastline in the southern part of the island.  The video also features some surfers at La Santa, on the western side of the island.  You'll also see some footage from Timanfaya National Park, in southwestern Lanzarote.

Check out this excellent drone video of a volcano in the Canary Islands, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot WeiS PRoDuCTioNS.  It's called the Caldera Blanca, and it's located on Lanzarote, the northernmost and easternmost of this Spanish archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  The caldera, which is circled by a 6 mi. (10 km) trail, is located in the Timanfaya National Park, which covers much of the western part of the island.  The crater is almost a mile wide (about 1.4 km).

Top AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot YoseGonFPV brings us this highly cinematic FPV video from Spain's Canary Islands.  The video was filmed on near the town of Vallehermoso on the western coast of La Gomera, one of the smaller of the Canary Islands, which are located off the coast of North Africa.  Vallehermoso is the second-largest town on the island, which has a total population of fewer than 25k permanent residents and is located just to the west of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands.   

La Graciosa is one of the smallest and least-known of Spain's Canary Islands archipelago.  It lies just 2 km (a bit over a mi.) north of Lanzarote, the easternmost and northernmost of the chain's major islands.  With only two permanent settlements, La Graciosa was officially named the eighth Canary Island in 2018.  It covers about 29 square km (around 11 sq. mi.) and is extremely arid.  Home to about 700 full-time residents, you can check out La Graciosa from above in this drone video from WeiS PRoDuCTioNS.  

Punta Orchilla Lighthouse (Faro de Punta Orchilla) is located on the western side of El Hierro, the westernmost of the Canary Islands.  For this reason, it's nicknamed the “lighthouse at the edge of the world.”  Sitting atop a hill, it has a focal height of 132 meters or about 425 ft.  It became operational in 1933 and is extremely isolated; reaching it requires a 25 km (15 mi.) trip through a partially unfinished road. The whitewashed single story house can be seen in this drone video by pilot dronostia.

Check out these drone and ground camera views of a famous beach area in the Canary Islands, compliments of AirVuz contributor WeiS PRoDuCTioNS.  The Papagayo beaches are located on a small peninsula at the very southern tip of Lanzarote, the fourth-largest as well as northernmost/easternmost of this Spanish archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  The beaches are situated amongst sea cliffs that run along the Papagayo coastline and offer complete seclusion, particularly considering that southern Lanzarote is comparatively uninhabited.

LRM Videos created this stunning drone video of La Palma, the northwesternmost of Spain's Canary Islands.  In terms of both land area and population, it is the fifth largest of the seven main islands which make up the Canaries.  Like the other islands, La Palma arises from a volcano on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean.  The volcano's summit rises about 2.4k meters (just under 8k ft.) above sea level, although much taller when measured from the depths of the ocean floor.

Talented content creator and first person view (FPV) pilot L. Morandini brings us this highly cinematic FPV video of an erupting volcano in Spain's Canary Islands.  It's actually a volcanic ridge called Cumbre Vieja, and it's located on La Palma, the fifth-largest of this archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  Having erupted twice during the course of the 20th century, the ridge began erupting again in September, 2021.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in December, 2021.  

Spain's Canary Islands are a geological wonder.  They were formed beginning just 20 million years ago (a comparative blink of the eye) when a "hotspot" on the floor of the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of North Africa began producing volcanoes large enough to emerge from the sea as islands.  These volcanoes now cover much of the interior area of the seven main islands.  In this outstanding drone video by contributor NIKCOM fpv, you'll take an aerial tour of some of these stunning volcanic mountains.

Explore the Spanish island of La Palma in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor Paco Ferrando.  La Palma is the fifth-largest of the eight main Canary Islands off the coast of North Africa.  At the :16 mark, you'll see the Fuencaliente Lighthouse at the southern end of the island, and at :43 you'll see the salt pans adjacent to the lighthouse.  At :48, you'll see a volcanic crater in Caldera de Taburiente National Park, and at 1:20 you'll see the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on La Palma's northern coast.  

Explore the Spanish island Tenerife in this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot nik.scherer.  The video was filmed near the town of El Draguillo on the northeastern coastline of the island, the largest (in land area) and most populous of the Canary Islands archipelago off the coast of North Africa.  This area is part of the "tail" of the roughly tadpole-shaped island, and (as you'll see in the video) the mountains here run up virtually to the coastline.   

AirVuz contributor and pilot Pedrolftavares used a drone to give us a beautiful aerial tour of Lanzarote, one of Spain's Canary Islands off the North African coast in the Atlantic.  It's the fourth largest of the Canaries in terms of land area, and it's considerably less well known than Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura.  Lying to the north and east of the other islands, Fuerteventura is also volcanic in origin.  The last known volcanic activity on the island occurred in the 18th century.
