Check out this stunning dronelapse video from the Spanish Pyrenees, compliments of former Drone Video of the Week Finalist theflyingshoes.  The video was captured as part of a project to supply drone footage for the Spanish TV show Entre Ovejas.  It was filmed near the ski resort of Cerler, near the town of Benasque in the heart of the Central Pyrenees mountain range.  The spectacularly beautiful area is part of Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces in Spain's semi-autonomous Aragon Region.

The Organs of Montoro (Los Órganos de Montoro) are a group of large limestone rocks in northern Spain.  They are situated near the municipality of Villarluengo in Taruel, one of the three provinces which make up the region of Aragon.  With huge vertical cliffs, the mountains derive their name from their resemblance to musical organ pipes.  In this drone video by Markus Kanal, you'll get an aerial view of these mountains, which have been declared a national monument by Spanish government.

Check out this amazing drone video from a couple of gorgeous spots in northern Spain.  Agüero is a town in the foothills of the Pyrenees, in the province of Huesca.  Lake Vadiello is also located in the province; the two sites form the top of a triangle with the provincial capital city Huesca occupying the southern point.  The entire area is part of the semi-automous province of Aragon, which covers much of the north central part of the country which was one of the cornerstones of the creation of modern Spain.

Featured in Season 6 of the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones," the lunar landscape of Bardenas Reales Natural Park's in Spain's Navarre region was a perfect filming location for the Dothraki's home.  James Bond fans will also recognize the area: it was the site of the "nuclear bunker" in The World is Not Enough (1999), the 21st movie in the series.  Check it out for yourself in this aerial film by Heilongbaixin, which also features footage of the Anisco Canyon in Huesca, which is part of the Aragon region.

Top contributor and pilot WeiS PRoDuCTioNS created this beautiful drone video from the Spanish Pyrenees, just south of Spain's border with France.  Aratorés is situated in the north part of the province of Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up the autonomous region of Aragon.  The video uses some clever editing, showing the village both in the warmer months as well as the winter.  The piece was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro drone, also incorporates some ground camera footage.

Enjoy these stunning views of the Pyrenees Mountains in northern Spain, compliments of top AirVuz contributor Paco Ferrando.  The video was fimed over several peaks in Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up the region of Aragon.  It features shots of the following peaks: Anayet (peak altitude: 8.35k ft. above sea level, or 2.55k m), Aspe (8.7k ft. ASL, 2.65k m), and Llena de la Garganta (8.5k ft. ASL, 2.6k m).  The Pyrenees serve as the border between Spain and its northern neighbor, France.

Contributor pepinair created this beautiful drone video of a well-known monastery in the Aragon region of north-central Spain.  It's called Nuestra Señora de las Fuentes, and it's located in the municipality of Sariñena in Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up the semi-autonomous Aragon region. Founded in the 16th century, the monastery is devoted to the order of Saint Bruno and in its current configuration reflects the Baroque architectural style.  It is known for its large interior paintings.

Contributor and pilot Sobrevolando created this amazing drone video of a recreation of a famous event in the Spanish Civil War.  During that conflict in the late 1930's, the Ebro River in Aragon and Catalonia was the site of a bloody battle between the warring sides.  On November 16, 1938, the Republican forces who had been on the defensive gave way and were forced back across the river by the Nationalist advance.  This ended the six month Battle of the Ebro, considered the war's decisive campaign.

Check out this beautiful drone video of an old Moorish town in north central Spain, compliments of Ono1979.  Alcalá de la Selva is situated in the province of Teruel, the southernmost of the three provinces which make up the semi-autonomous region of Aragon.  Like virtually all of the Iberian Peninsula, it came under Muslim (Moorish) control late in the First Milennium.  Late in the 12th century, it was taken by King Alfonso II of Aragon as part of the centuries-long struggle known as the Reconquesta.

Check out this drone video of a trip through the Pyrenees Mountains in northern Spain, compliments of contributor Matt38130.  It was filmed in the province of Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up the semi-autonomous region of Aragon.  The video features footage of the Bujaruelo valley; the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park; and Broto, a municipality in the eponymously named valley.  Since the 17th century, the crest of the Pyrenees has serve as the international boundary between France and Spain.

Check out these beautiful drone views of the Spanish Pyrenees, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Paco Ferrando.  The video was shot over a karst formation known as Aigualluts.  It's located in Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up the region of Aragon.  The formation is part of Aneto, the highest mountain in the Pyrenees, which has a peak elevation of almost 11.2k ft. above sea level (just over 3.4k m).  The video includes footage of the Ésera River and the Aigualluts waterfall.

Some of the most unusual landscapes in Spain are to be found in a desert "badlands" area of the Aragon region called the Monegros.  Here, unusual erosion patterns have created spectacular rock formations like what you will see in this drone video by contributor and pilot pepinair.  The centerpiece of the video is the pedestal shaped Tozal de la Cobeta.  Chronically prone to drought, the Monegros areas covers portions of Zaragosa and Huesca, two of the provinces which make up the Aragon region.

Sobrevolando created this beautiful drone video of Bajo Aragón a county in the Teruel province of northern Spain.  Teruel is the southernmost of the three provinces which make up the autonomous region of Aragon.  It's in the Sistema Ibérico, a chain of mountains which runs on a northwest-to-southeast axis across much of northern Spain.  This area has seen massive de-population since the Spanish Civil War, one of the rural areas which has fed the growth of Barcelona and Madrid.

Contributor Jonatan_Joy created this beautiful drone video of one of the highest peaks in the Pyrenees Mountains.  Monte Perdido is part of the national park of the same name in the province of Huesca, in the region of Aragon.  With a peak elevation of 3.35k meters (just over 11k ft.), it's the third highest mountain in the entire Pyrenees system.  While the mountain's peak is very close to the French border, access to it from France is very difficult due to the presence of some steep intervening mountains.

Check out these stunning drone views from the Spanish Pyrenees, compliments of AirVuz contributor Paco Ferrando.  The video was filmed in the Literola Valley, which is near the town of Benasque in Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up the region of Aragon.  The video features views of the moiuntain known as Perdiguero, whose summit lies along the Spanish/French border and which forms part of the western side of the valley.  This mountain has a peak elevation of just under 10.6k ft. or a little over 3.2k m.

Contributor D_Drone used a drone to aerially film a well known rock formation in northern Spain.  The Mallets of Riglos (Mallos de Riglos) is a series of conglomerate rock formations in the town of Las Peñas de Riglos in Huesca, one of the provinces of the country's Aragon region.  Part of the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains, the rocks reach an elevation of about 1k meters (around 3.3k ft.).  They are reachable via a roughly 45 minute drive from the provincial capital and are a popular climbing destination.

Spain's Red Canyon (Cañon Rojo, Rambla de Barrachina) is one of the (largely undiscovered) natural treasures of Teruel, the southernmost of the three provinces of Aragon in the north-central part of the country.  Seen in this drone video by AirVuz contributor Paco Ferrando, the canyon is visually distinguished by its reddish-brown shale rocks.  The canyon is a short drive southwest of the province's namesake capital city, near the town of Villaspesa.  The entire region is part of the Iberian System chain of mountains.

The Castle of Loarre (Castillo de Loarre) is one of the oldest in Spain.  Seen in this drone video by AirVuz contributor Michael Visual, it's located in Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces of the Aragon region.  It was constructed in the 11th-12th centuries, when the area lay on the frontier between Christian and Muslim Europe.  The complex, which didn't take on its outer walls and their towers until the 14th century, includes numerous buildings, some of which lie outside of the castle walls, such as an 11th century church.

Contributor and drone pilot Rescuebcn created this amazing aerial video of a well-known modern shrine in northern Spain.  It's called Torreciudad, and it's devoted to Saint Mary.  Consecrated in 1975, Torreciudad is located in the province of Huesca, the northernmost of the three provinces which make up Spain's Aragon region.  The shrine is built on the Embalse del Grado, a reservoir lake located in the foothills of the Pyrenees Mountains which was a part of a major Franco-era hydroelectricity project.

Check out this drone video of a famous monastery in northern Spain, compliments of contributor Alfonso. The Monasterio de Leyre is located in the region of Navarre, an autonomous region of Spain that sits between Basque Country and Aragon.  The structure dates to the 9th century AD, although it was more or less completely rebuilt in the 16th century.  The monastery is located on the Camino de Santiago, a historical pilgrimage route that ends in the Galicia region in the country's northwestern corner.

Take a look at this stunning aerial video of an important mountain in the Pyrenees in northern Spain, compliments of contributor Martinejant.  The mountain is called Pic de Vallibierna, and it's situated in the Huesca Province in the region of Aragon, which covers much of the north-central part of the country.  The mountain has a peak elevation of a bit over 3.05k meters, or a bit over 10k ft., making it one of the higher mountains in this chain which straddles northern Spain and southern France.

AirVuz contributor manumolinadrone brings us this fascinating drone video of a town abandoned during the Spanish Civil War.  It's called Belchite, and it's located in the province of Zaragosa, one of three which makes up the Aragon region of north-central Spain.  During the late summer of 1937, the town was the site of a fierce battle between Republican and Nationalist forces, over the course of which the town was completely destroyed.   Following the war, a new village was built, and the destroyed Belchite was left as a memorial.

AirVuz contributor and pilot Paco Ferrando brings us this excellent drone video from a well-known ski resort in the Spanish Pyrenees mountains.  The resort is called Astún, and it's located just a few miles/km from the French border in Huesca, the northernmost of the provinces of the region of Aragon.  The resort features about 25 mi. (around 40 km) of marked runs, with a base elevation of about 5.6k ft. above sea level (around 1.7k m) and a maximum vertical drop of about 2k ft. (around 600 m).

In early January, 2021, Spain was hit by a snowstorm called Filomena, the worst winter storm to hit the country in decades.  It brought flooding to the southern part of the country and many inches of snow to the north as well as bone-chilling cold temperatures.  In this drone video, new AirVuz contributor shows us the aftermath of the storm in the town of El Poyo del Cid.  The town is located in the province of Teruel, the southernmost of the three provinces which make up the region of Aragon in northern Spain.

The Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) was one of Europe's most important pilgrimage routes.  The most-traveled portion of the route ran westwards through northern Spain toward the ultimate destination: the Camino de Santiago in Galicia.  In this drone video by Alfonso, you'll get an aerial glimpse of one of the more important churches on the fabled route: the Church of Saint Mary of Eunate.  It's located in the semi-automous region of Navarre, which lies between Aragon and Basque Country.
