How To Measure The Height Of Tall Trees Or Buildings With A Drone.

We were using this for a job we were doing at the time.
and after it was finished with, we decide that we would put it on here for all to see.

We could have used other ways to measure the trees, but we thought if we had done so, it would of left the door wide open for someone to criticize the accuracy of it.

Some people have tried using the altimeters on their Drones.

But we have found, after using several Drones, that the altimeters can have slight differences between Drones, which means the accuracy is questionable.

So we decided on using our smallest Drone with a non stretch string attached to the underside of it. and flew it up to the top of the trees, then we had somebody standing some distance away, and they called out to say when the Drone was level with the top of the trees.

When they did this, we put a knot in the string at ground level.
And then we landed the Drone. and ran the string out with a measuring tape laid out beside it. and we got the height of the trees that way.

Please note! this method can be accurately used for not only trees, but for anything you need to know the height of.
