ABANDONED SUBMARINE
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
How long does it take for a working building to turn to wreckage after a business closes? After watching this flight by FPV pilot FRY_FPV you’ll see that it doesn’t take long. His epic session through a bando on the sea was made possible after a shipping company went bankrupt. One of the buildings exploded, causing the closure of the company, however the rest took only three years to fall to disarray.

May 16th, 2019 Almost 3 years ago, an explosion occurred at the shipyard, leading the company to bankruptcy. Two of the workshops and some smaller buildings have been destroyed by the fire. The site is a really great example of smaller scale British heavy industry, with pretty much all the machinery and tools left from when the company went bust in 2016. I was surprised to see an abandoned submarine on the other side of the river and I couldn't help myself to risk to lose my quad to get a shot at it. I actually went twice there to have a closer look. The winds were really pushing that day, you can notice it when I do power loops that my quadcopter is drifting. I tried to keep the flight over water steady but it was hard with the gusts. I made it home, which is the most important. Some pilots told me afterwards they lost their drone attempting the same flight, I'm very sorry for their lost but thankfully they didn't tell me before I did it; otherwise I probably would have reconsider.
