This is filmed on the same day as my previous film from Hvittingfoss and is another small and very charming place that is also named after a waterfall, namely Eidsfoss. The village is nicely located between the lakes Eikeren and Bergsvannet in Holmestrand municipality in Norway. The first trace of human activity is from about 8000 years BC. and is a stone axe that was found in the area. In medieval time, a farm is mentioned that lies between these lakes. But in 1697, Eidsfos Ironworks was established here and they kept going until 1884. Other industries have been active since then. Today, several markets and cultural activities are held here. Several artists also live and work in the area. By the way, one of Norway's oldest country merchants is also in Eidsfoss. They have been in operation since 1868. A summery greeting from a little gem in Norway. 🌞
