The Faroe Islands have been on my list for the longest time as a place to visit. It was really only after exploring much of the Nordic countries that I really started to enjoy these sorts of landscapes. Much like Iceland, it has grown in popularity and more and more tourists seem to be flocking there every year. The country is essentially an archipelago, made up of 18 islands, some only accessible by ferry. The islands I visited myself included Vágar, Mykines, Streymoy, Eysturoy, Bordoy, Kalsoy, Vidoy, Sandoy, and Kunoy. The islands have a collection population of 50,000 people, overshadowed by their 70,000 sheep. My flight into Faroe was cancelled for three straight days due to fog. Once I arrived, I rented a car from justdrive.fo (amazing experience with them and the owner Michael). I rented their Fiat500 All electric car which couldn't have been easier to drive and to charge, all without paying for a drop of gas. I drove to all the places that I knew would be difficult to see without public transport. This two day period was exhausting with long days, trying to see everything I could. In retrospect, if I could do the entire trip with this rental car it would have been better, but I was on a time crunch.
