TÓRSHAVN | Faroe Islands by Drone in 4K - DJI Mavic Air 2

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

AirVuz contributor eCKsplorer used a DJI Air 2 to create this marvelous drone video of Tórshavn, the capital and largest town in Denmark's Faroe Islands archipelago.  The town is located on the southeastern coast of Streymoy, the largest island of the chain.  The video opens with some nice overhead shots of Tinganes, the oldest part of the town.  At the 1:00 mark, you'll see the Tórshavn Cathedral, the second-oldest church in the Faroes.  Other featured spots include the Tórsvøllur football stadium (1:11) and the Skansin fortress (1:18).

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

My journey to the Faroe Islands started off 3 days later since my flight into the country was cancelled until the weather cleared. Luckily for me, it did and I spent a lot of my time in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands. The city has a population of 13,083 which comprises roughly a quarter of the total population of the Faroe. This city capital has a bit of everything: an old town containing turf houses, reminiscent of the Faroese past, churches like the Tórshavn Cathedral and Vesturkirkjan, the fort and lighthouse at Skansin, as well as the seat of the Faroese government on the Tinganes peninsula. The Norse established their parliament on the Tinganes peninsula in 850 AD. I was glad that the weather was pretty clear for me to fly my drone and get some great shots of the city.
