Hautefort Castle

This castle is classified as a historic monument.

In the Middle Ages, this castle was a fortified castle consisting of a central tower, surrounded by four defensive towers connected by walls.In the 17th century, the castle was completely redesigned and the fortifications gave way to an architecture reminiscent of Parisian architecture and that of the Loire castles.In 1968, a major fire ravaged the central part of the castle.Since then, the work is still in progress and the upper levels are not yet open to visits.
