Inferno
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Top AirVuz contributor and pilot snorrithor does it again with this fantastic drone video of a volcanic eruption on the North Atlantic island of Iceland. Following a series of earthquakes in late 2020 and early 2021, Geldingadalir began erupting on March 21. The subject of the video is a second eruption, which began on April 5th when a fissure about 1.5 km (roughly a mile) from the original eruption opened up and began spewing hot lava. This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in April, 2021.

On the 6th of April 2021 new volcanic craters started erupting in Geldingadalir, Reykjanes Peninsula. The lava from the new craters started flowing in a different direction than the older craters, into a valley called Meradalir. The volcanic eruption is ongoing and could last for months or even years. Cinematography & Editing: Snorri Thor Tryggvason ( www.snorrithorphotography.com ) Music: Bix Sigurdsson
