The Nations

The man on the silo is 91 year old Lee Estes (age at the time finished mural). Lee has lived in the Nations neighborhood since the 1920’s. The Nations is located in West Nashville. Most of his life Lee lived in view of this silo. Australian Guido Van Helten, an internationally acclaimed muralist, created the life-like portrait of Lee on the silo. Guido says it is a positive thing to commemorate people who have lived in an area for a long time.
