A small presentation of the first main road in Norway. That is, the first road for wheeled transport and a so-called royal road. Built on the orders of King Christian IV after the establishment of the mining company Kongsberg Sølvverk in 1624. Much of the road follows the old route, although some have been changed over the years. Today it is still possible to experience, among other, beautiful stone bridges. The largest was built in 1767 by masons at Kongsberg Sølvverk and replaced an older wooden bridge. The map seen in the beginning is from 1784.
