The coastline in the western Basque country (near Bilbou) is stunningly rugged rugged. The coastline is dotted with a few protected coves, such as Bahia de Plentzia and charming coastal towns. Plantzia is a romantic town with narrow streets, stunning beaches and the Plentzia River Walk. And clearly if you like to boat...it's a place for you. Coastal flysch succession As a geologist the area is famous for it's deepwater deposits. The steep cliffs of flysch (deep waster sediments) from the late Cretaceous (time of the dinosaurs) to Palaeogene age.
