Memories from PERU | A Cinematic Short Film

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top AirVuz contributor Guillermo Garcia won the Drone Video of the Week contest in May of 2026 with this fantastic video from Peru.  The video opens with a stunning shot of the Seven Lagoons of Ausangate, a series of glacial lakes in the Andes Mountains.  At the :13 mark, you'll see Rainbow Mountain, aka Vinicunca..  At :46, you'll head into the Amazon River Basin, which actually covers over half of the Peruvian land area, and at 1:46 you'll see the oasis of Huacachina in the southwestern part of the country.

BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

There is an ancient knowledge in the Andes, whispered by the mountains and passed down through generations, that sees the world not as a single form of matter, but as a balance between living forces that feel, breathe, and remember. They say this world was created by the Sky Fathers, and walked by men who spoke with the sun. The stars guided the soul, and Pachamama, the eternal mother, nourished not only the body… but the spirit. Everything was alive: the earth, the water, the sky. Everything had a name. Everything had a memory. In Peru, history does not sleep. It walks with you. It awakens a part of you that this land… never forgot.

From the oasis of Huacachina and its vast desert, to touching the sky in Ausangate and the colorful mountains of Palcoyo. It’s an incredible, and at times harsh, experience to walk for kilometers at nearly 5,000 meters above sea level, where the air is thin and the weather constantly shifts.

The Quechua voiceover for this video was created together with local people. This was incredibly special to me, because it allowed me to tell their story through this film.

I truly hope you enjoy this video!
