Check out this fantastic drone video of the town of São Tomé, the capital of the West African island nation of São Tomé and Príncipe.  The town lies on the eastern side of its namesake island, the southern and larger of the two which make up this small country.  The town was founded by Portuguese explorers in the late 15th century, very early in Portugal's Age of Discovery.   With a population of about 75k, it's home to about a third of the country's permanent residents.  São Tomé and Príncipe became an independent country in 1975.
