Drone Tour of Stockholm

Beautiful Stockholm In Winter 4K

Frame Hunt...

Stockholm, Sweden dates its rise to prominence dates to the Hanseatic League, an alliance of Baltic cities which dominated Northern Europe from the 12th-14th centuries.  Stockholm went on to become the capital of the Swedish Empire which controlled some of the most powerful military forces in Europe in the 17th century.  Since then, the city has been the capital of Sweden and in effect the capital of Scandinavia.  Here, Frame Hunters Media delivers a beautiful aerial view of the City of Vikings.

Stockholm in Winter

Stockholm in Winter

The Swedish capital city of Stockholm is located on a series of islands of the Baltic Sea at a latitude of about 60 degrees north - well south of the Arctic Circle, but far enough north to place it amongst the northernmost of the world's major cities.  In this excellent drone video by copter_shot, you'll get an aerial tour of Scandinavia's largest city in the depths of winter, when the days are as short as six hours.  The video includes footage of such sights as the Waxholm Fortress at the 1:14 mark, Riddarholmen Church (1:57), and more.

Sweden - Stockholm - Aspudden

Check out this drone video from a VERY colorful neighborhood of Stockholm, Sweden.  It's called the Aspudden District, and it's part of the Hägersten-Liljeholmen borough which lies in the west central part of the Swedish capital city.  The city of Stockholm proper has a population of about a million, and it's the center of a metropolitan area of amost 2.5 million.  Greater Stockholm is the largest urban area in the Nordic countries, and is kind of the unofficial capital city of Scandinavia.

Stockholm is arguably one of the most interesting capitals in the world, geography-wise. The capital of Sweden encompasses 14 islands and has more than 50 bridges on the extensive Baltic Sea archipelago. You can see some of those massive bridges in this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot silvano1988.   Shot during the wintertime, the video features footage of the Gamla Stan (the city's old town) and its cobblestone streets, as well as some great shots of outlying parts of the city on the islands to its east.

Drone Views of Stockholm

Drone: Stockholm City of Vikings

Sweden's capital Stockholm sits in the southern part of this very large Scandinavian country.  Stockholm is also the largest city in Scandinavia, with over 2.3 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area.  Founded by the Vikings during the Middle Ages, the city is built upon a series of islands which open up to the Baltic Sea to the east of the city.  Contributor Gezimmavri was given special permission to fly his drone over otherwise-restricted parts of the city, enabling the creation of this spectacular aerial tour of the City of Vikings.

Stockholm from Above

Stockholm | Europe from a drone

Contributor Proskalov created this marvelous drone video of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden and the largest city in Scandinavia.  The city is built on 14 islands on the body of water created by the giant Lake Mälaren flowing into the Baltic Sea.  One of the richest cities in Europe, Stockholm is the home of corporate Sweden and is, in many respects, the cultural capital of Scandinavia. The area has been settled since the Antiquity, and the city of Stockholm was formally founded in the 13th century.

Tyresö Palace

Tyresö Castle - Cinematic MavicAir2 in 4K

Check out this beautiful drone video of a famous castle on the outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden, compliments of AirVuz contributor photomiqs.  Tyresö Palace is located in Tyresö Municipality, about 15 mi. (around 25 km) southeast of central Stockholm.  The palace was originally built in the 1620's-1630's for Gabriel Gustafsson Oxenstierna, a Swedish statesman who had been (among other roles) a Privy Counselor to Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus.  In the late 1770's, the palace became the first in Sweden to have an English-style garden.

Waxholm, Swedish Archipelago

A Sunny Day in Waxholm

AirVuz contributor photomiqs brings us this excellent drone video of a small Swedish island town called Waxholm (Vaxholm).  It's located on its namesake island in the Stockholm Archipelago, a group of islands of the Baltic Sea which includes those of the Swedish capital and extends to its east.  Established in the 16th century, the town is now considered an outer suburb of Stockholm.  It's connected to the Swedish mainland via a bridge to its south, as well as to its neighboring island of Kullö to the north.

The Globe Arena

Stockholm Globe Arena

Here's an amazing drone video of the largest hemispherical building on earth.  It's called the Ericsson Globe, and it's situated in the Swedish capital city of  Stockholm.  Sometimes simply referred to as the Globe, it's an indoor arena in the Johanneshov district of the city, center of the largest urban area in the Scandinavia region.  The arena seats about 16,000 for concerts and a bit under 14,000 for hockey events.  Completed in 1989, the building has an inner diameter of about 110 meters (360 ft.).
