MUST-SEE VIDEOS (2026)

Jay Christensen won the Drone Video of the Week contest with this fantastic aerial ode to his hometown city of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  The creator of the legendary 2021 bowling alley video which remains the most-watched FPV video of all time, his video opens with a series of shots of Downtown Minneapolis, followed by a view of the historic Stone Arch Bridge on the Mississippi River. Other highlights include the Hennepin Avenue Bridge, the Guthrie Theater, the city's Chain of Lakes, Target Field, Target Center, and more.   

Top contributor The Brothers M brings us this fantastic aerial tour of Romania.  The video features footage from across the land, including the Carpathian Mountains, the Danube River Delta, and the Black Sea coast.  Featured locations include the Fortified Church in Cristian, Transylvania (at the :50 mark); the Great Square in Sibiu (:58); the Black Church of Brașov (:59); the Palace of Culture in Iași (1:02); Bran Castle (1:05); the Black Eagle Palace in Oradea (1:08); the National Bank of Romania Museum in Bucharest (1:21); and more.  

Top AirVuz contributor Nelstill earned a DVOW Finalist spot with this fantastic drone video from the Bucovina region of Romania.  Bucovina is a historical region which Romania shares with neighboring Ukraine.  Its landscape is largely the mountains of the Eastern Carpathian Mountains, with a portion situated on the adjacent plains.  Highlights of the video include spectacular mountain rock formations, centuries-old monasteries, winding mountain passes, medieval fortresses, market towns, and more.  

AirVuz contributor Keygoco films brings us this outstanding drone video of Spain's Alcázar of Segovia, one of Europe's most famous medieval castles.  Located about an hour's drive northwest of Madrid, near the center of the country, it was built in the 12th century on the ruins of an old Roman fortification situated at the strategic confluence of two important rivers.  The castle was a royal residence for the rulers of the Kingdom of Castile and later for the kings and queens of unified Spain.  It is a UNESCO World Heritage site.  

Top AirVuz contributor Kpax earned another Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot with this outstanding video from Switzerland's Monte Boglia.  The mountain rises to a peak elevation of just under 5k ft. (a little over 1.5k meters) above sea level.  Monte Boglia is situated on the border between the (Italian-speaking) southern canton of Ticino and the Italian region of Lombardy.  The mountain overlooks the large glacial Lake Lugano.  The video was filmed during the winter months with a DJI Mini 5 Pro drone.  

Check out this Drone Video of the Week Finalist from the Philippines by AirVuz contributor Powzeal.  The video was filmed using both a gimbal-stabilized DJI Mavic Pro 3 as well as a first person view (FPV) drone for fast-moving sequences.  At the :15 mark, you'll see the famous "Chocolate Hills" of Bohol, one of the central islands in the archipelago.  At the :26 mark, there's a great shot flying down a palm tree-line river, followed (at :41) by a view of a white sand beach.  Further on you'll be treated to some dramatic FPV beach runs.  

Top AirVuz contributor Kpax earned another Drone Video of the Week Finalilst spot with this excellent drone video from the Swiss Alps.  The video was filmed over and around Mt. Madone (Madone di Mergoscia), which is located between the Maggia and Verzasca Valleys in the southern (primarily Italian-speaking) canton of Ticino.  The mountain is part of the Lepontine Alps, a subchain of the Alps which is located along the Swiss-Italian border.  Madone has a summit elevation of 6.7k ft. above sea level, or a bit over 2k m.  

Top AirVuz contruibutor and first person view (FPV) pilot ArturCarvalho was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist for this outstanding video filming mountain bikers plying a challenging trail in Sintra, Portugal just to the northwest of Lisbon.  The FPV portions of the video were filmed with a DJI Avata 2, while "establishing" shots were filmed with a DJI Mavic Pro 4.  The FPV sequences are particularly impressive given the density of the trees that closely line the trail.  

Top contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot mcydro won the Drone Video of the Week contest with this fantastic FPV video from Nazaré, Portugal.  Located in the Centro region on the country's Silver Coast, Nazaré is generally considered the top surfing spot in Europe, and one of the most challenging in the world.  The presence of an underwater canyon and the prevailing currents produce perfectly breaking waves that include the largest ever surfed, an 86 ft. monster (26 m) tackled by German surfer Sebastian Steudtner in 2020.    

Elemental drones was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist for this excellent aerial video from the Central American republic of Panama.  The areas filmed lie on the country's southern/western coastline along the Pacific Ocean.  Featured locations include  Isla de Coiba, the largest island in Central America, which is located in the central province of Veraguas; and Santa Catalina, a fishing village on the mainland part of Veraguas.  The video was filmed using two different drones: a DJI Mini 2 and a DJI Air 2S.  

Top AirVuz contributor Gavrfpv earned a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this excellent first person view (FPV) drone video from the historic town of Kotor in Montenegro.  Shot with a micro-sized Pavo20 FPV quad, the video will take you over and around the city, which is located on the inner part of Kotor Bay, an inlet of the Adriatic Sea.  Kotor was considered one of the most important outposts of the Venetian Empire during the late Middle Ages, and was accordingly heavily fortified.  

Top Airvuz contributor Airviewstudio brings us this excellent drone video from northern Portugal.  The video was filmed around the town of Monção, which is located in the Alto Minho district of the Norte region, not far from the border with Spain.  The video opens with a shot of the town center, which lies along the banks of the Minho River.  At the 2:48 mark, you'll see the Brejoeira Palace, a notable 18th century landmark.  Other featured locations include the Longos Vales's Monastery (seen at the 3:06 mark).  

Check out this excellent drone video of the Thamalakane River in the African country of Botswana, compliments of AirVuz contributor Botswana tourism.  Unusually for any river, the Thamalakane has no clearly defined source or mouth.  It's part of the Okavango Delta, which is one of the few delta systems which doesn't flow into the sea.  Selected as one of the Seven Wonders of Africa in 2013, the Okavango Delta covers an area of about 8k square mi. (around 20k square km) and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.  

Top AirVuz contributor Matcoq garnered a Drone Video of the Week Finalist spot for this outstanding drone video of the kitesurfing scene in northern Portugal.  The video was filmed near the town of Vila Nova de Gaia (also known simply as Gaia), which is part of the Porto District that encompasses Portugal's second-largest city.  With its pristine beaches (Gaia has the most Blue Flag Beaches of any Portuguese town) and strong, steady North Atlantic Ocean winds, Gaia has become one of the hubs of the emerging kitesurfing scene in Portugal.

Top contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot 43lensfpv earned a DVOW Finalist spot for this fantastic FPV video from the ancient oasis city of al-Ula in Saudi Arabia.  Situated about 220 miles (around 350 km) northwest of Medina in the western region of Hejaz, the city dates to the 1st millennium BC as a strategic location along the incense trade route which linked the Mediterranean region to India.  After lying in a near-ruined state for centuries, the city revived with the construction of the railway between Medina and Damascus.
