We visit one of many old silver mines at Kongsberg. The mining operation started in 1624 and after several ups and downs, the mining company Kongsberg Sølvverk was finally shut down in 1958. The hills west of the city are pierced like a Swiss cheese and has about 1000 km mine passages. This mine is easily accessible from the Knuteveien which runs straight past. It's called Mildigkeit Gottes mine and was started in 1676.
