Iced In

Winter is truly settling in now. Over the last week, our local Little Lake Sunapee has iced over in a series of stages, and when seen from above, the patterns and structures are surreal and unexpected. Your sense of scale will be confused, with no idea how close or far we are from the surface. It all reminded me of something from outer space, perhaps a lunar landscape. Today it snowed, so all of this is covered in a thick blanket of uniform white. But for a few days, it was magic.
