Bled's Lake is in the Julian Alps of Slovenia. It takes less than an hour to drive there from the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. The church featured in this 4K aerial piece by Alberto Ardit is Cerkev Marijinega Vnebovzetja or the Pilgrimage Church of the Assumption of Mary. It is reached only by boat and has been there since the 9th century (although its current form has only been around since the late 17th century). It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Slovenia.

Even though the Age of Steam has passed, there remains a profound fascination with the idea that giant trains could be propelled with steam generated by burning coal.  Near Lake Bled, Slovenia, an old bridge carries steam trains across the Vintgar Gorge.  It's just a few km/mi from Lake Bled, probably the most well known spot in the country.  Contributor Kohlman Aerials made this short but impressive drone video of this scene, which appears to be something out of the 19th century.

Contributor Bananaway used a drone to film what has to be one of the best spots for stand-up-paddleboarding in southeastern Europe.  Lake Cerknica is in southwestern Slovenia.  The size of the lake varies dramatically over the course of the year; at times it is the country's largest lake, while at other times it mostly drains and becomes more of a swampy wetland.  During the right season, its calm waters and extensive marshy areas make for some epic paddleboarding!

Here's a bird's eye view of the most prominent landmark in the Slovenian capital city of Ljubljana.  Ljubljana Castle sits atop a hill in the city, which lies in the middle of the country.  It dates to the 11th century, and was originally a fortress.  In the 16th and 17th centuries it was largely rebuilt as a classic castle - ie, a residence.  It overlooks the downtown of the city and is the largest tourist destination in the capital.  The video was created by Skydronauts using a DJI Mavic Pro drone.
