Nashville is a city on the Cumberland River in the state of Tennessee in the southeastern United States.  Nashville is the largest city in the Volunteer State, and for years has been one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country.  In this impressive video, contributor BBloss flies a drone over Nashville and creates a beautiful aerial portrait of this city, whose Grand Ole Opry venue is known as the worldwide center of the multibillion dollar country music industry.

Contributor Matt Hallum created this excellent drone tour of the port city of Wilmington North Carolina.  The video opens with a nice shot of the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, which spans the Cape Fear River on the city's west side.  From there, you'll be taken over the main riverfront, back to the bridge, and then on to the USS North Carolina, a World War II era battleship converted to a museum.  Most of the rest of the video features the beaches and boating scene downstream on the river and on the Atlantic coastline.

Bumble Bee Productions created this beautiful night drone video of Raleigh, North Carolina's second most populous city and capital.  It's located near the geographic middle of the state, and is the center of a metropolitan area which includes neighboring Durham and the university town of Chapel Hill.  The city is named after Sir Walter Raleigh, who founded the so-called "Lost Colony" of Roanoake on the Atlantic coast.   Raleigh has a population of about a 500,000, and the metro area around 1.3 million.

Top contributor Droneloop created this spectacular video of a hiking trip to the top of Pinnacle Mountain in the Southeastern USA state of Arkansas.  Pinnacle is part of the Oachitas range, which itself is part of the larger Ozark Mountain system.  While the mountain is only 300 meters (about 1k ft) above sea level, it appearance is much more prominent due to it volcano-looking shape and its steep rise above the Arkansas River below it.  The mountain is located just outside of Little Rock, near the center of the state.

Top contributor Jeff Walrich treats us to this magnificent aerial tour of Topsail Beach, North Carolina, in the Southeastern USA.  The town is situated on Topsail Island near Wilmington (the largest city in eastern North Carolina), near the southern end of North Carolina's Atlantic Ocean coastline.  In pre-Revolutionary War times, the area was rumoured to be a hiding spot for pirates.  In fact, the name "Topsail" derives from the lookouts maintained for the tops of pirate sailing ships.  This video was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro drone.

I-Drone-Aerial created this beautiful drone video of one of the most visited lighthouses on the US East Coast.  Bodie Island lighthouse is located on an island of the same name, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  The Outer Banks, which lie on the state's northern Atlantic Coast, are notoriously difficult waters for ships.  The Bodie Island Lighthouse, opened in 1873, was critical to improving the safety of shipping in these treacherous waters.  The lighthouse is about 50 meters (about 155 ft.) in height.

Contributor and drone pilot strange2075 raced the sunset and won to capture this epic aerial view of Elvis Presley Lake near Tupelo, Mississippi.  The lake is located in Lee County, in the northeastern corner of the state.  It is named in honor of Tupelo's (and possibly Mississippi's) most famous son, Elvis Presley.  He was born in Tupelo in 1935 and spent his formative years here.  In 1948, his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee; while it took longer then, now it's only a two hour drive to the northwest on I-22.

Top content creator and pilot Marco Hernandez used a DJI Inspire 2 drone to record the demolition of the Georgia Dome.  Opened in 1992, the stadium served as the home field for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.  It was the only stadium in the world to have hosted the Super Bowl, the Olympics, and the NCAA Final Four tournament.  Located just west of downtown Atlanta, the stadium was demolished by implosion following the completion of Mercedes-Benz Stadium on an adjacent site.

Charleston, South Carolina has one of the finest natural harbors on the USA's East Coast.  In this video by contributor vvertigo, you'll get a bird's eye view of some of the scenery on the north side of the harbor. Bumble Bee Productions brings us this beautiful aerial view of one of the most famous lighthouses in the Southeastern USA.  It's called Bald Head Lighthouse, known colloquially as Mt. Baldy.  Situated on Bald Head Island near the mouth of the Cape Fear River, it's the oldest standing lighthouse in the Tar Heel State.  It opened in 1817 to protect shipping in and out of the then-young port of Wilmington.  Both Mt. Baldy and the nearby Cape Fear Lighthouses were closed in the late 1950's.

DereksAerial created this drone video of a barge plying the Cumberland River in Nashville, Tennessee.  Barges are a unique type of cargo ship: they do not have onboard power.  The flat-bottomed ships are used to transport cargo on rivers or in other shallow waters that prohibit the deeper drafts associated with on-board propulsion.  During the great age of canal-building in the 19th century, before the widespread adoption of rail transport, barges were the critical form of transportation.

Check out this drone video of one of the largest lakes in the Southeastern Lake, compliments of psittason.  Lewis Smith Lake is actually a reservoir (artificial) lake created by the Lewis Smith Dam on the Black Warrior River, one of the largest dams in the eastern United States.  The lake covers about 85 square km or around 30 square mi. when full, and has a shoreline of about 800 km (around 500 mi.).  With a maximum depth of 80 meters (264 ft.), it's the deepest lake in the state.

Content creator and drone pilot Bumble Bee Productions created this excellent nighttime aerial video of Mobile, Alabama.  Located at the head of Mobile Bay (an inlet of the Gulf of Mexico), Mobile is the state's third-largest city.  The video features some excellent footage of the RSA Battle House Tower; the 35 story tower has a roof height of just over 200 meters or around 670 ft.  During the 19th century, Mobile played a key role in the Industrial Revolution, serving as the main port for US cotton exports to England.

Louisiana's Lake Pontchartrain isn't actually a true "lake"; it's really a brackish section of Mississippi River estuary.  It forms the northern boundary of the city of New Orleans.  It covers an enormous area of 1.6k square km (around 600 square mi.) but is quite shallow - its maximum depth is only 20 meters or 65 feet.  In this drone video by Bumble Bee Productions, you'll get a bird's eye view of the great lake, which famously overflowed when Hurricane Katrina struck the city in 2005.

Here's an awesome sunset look at the great city of New Orleans, Louisiana, compliments of contributor Bumble Bee Productions.  Although it would be hard to argue that the city has fully recovered from Hurricane Katrina, it's certainly come a long ways since the Hurricane Katrina nearly dealt a death blow to the Big Easy in 2005.  And it certainly can be said that its most visible areas, which escaped the worst of the flooding that occurred in Katrina's wake, bear no scars from the historic storm.

Charleston is port city in the Southeastern USA state of South Carolina.  While not the largest city in the state, it is the most well known by virtue of its past.  Famously, the guns at Charleston's Fort Sumter fired the first shots of the US Civil War in 1861, setting off the most traumatic chapter of US history.  More recently, the city was devastated by Hurricane Hugo in 1989.  This aerial tour of Charleston is courtesy of contributor Grec's Whirlybird and his DJI Mavic Pro drone.
