Tuscany - A cinematic aerial video of one of the most beautiful places on earth

Top contributor Electriclife flew his drone over the verdant rolling hills of Tuscany, one of Italy's most important regions.  The region covers much of the western coast of Italy, running well into the interior.  Sailing over spectacular scenes of this ancient province, we get aerial glimpses of the beautiful countryside and magnificent estates which seem too beautiful to be real.  This land, which served as the birthplace of the Rennaissance, is one of truly timeless beauty.

Monteriggioni Castle in Tuscany

On a visit to the Italian region of Tuscany, contributor Jonaharding was able to use a drone to film the  walled town of  Monteriggioni.  Situated in the inland province Siena, the town was built in the Middle Ages.  Its 14 towers are marvels of Italian architecture, and the rolling hills surrounding it are magnificent.  Enjoy the bird's eye views of this spectacular Italian comune, which was mentioned in Dante's Divine Inferno.

The Tuscan town of Pisa is known around the world for its leaning tower, a bell tower which was constructed in the 12th century on ground which turned out to be too soft.  Now stabilized (if still tilted), the Leaning Tower of Pisa is flanked by the rows of picturesque streets and charming red roofs.  The 57 meter (186 ft.) building has become one of Italy's most iconic sites.  Drone pilot Gianlo also used the perfect lighting of the setting sun to create a postcard like feel for this idyllic cityscape.

ITALY 🇮🇹 Florence. A 4K Drone Film

Nathan Jermy

Contributor Nathan Jermy created this inspiring drone video of Florence, the great city of the Italian Renaissance.  The opening and ending shots of the video focus on one of Florence's most famous landmarks: the Ponte Vecchio bridge, which spans the Arno River in the Tuscan capital. While there was a bridge here as long ago as Roman times, the current bridge was built in the 14th century and survived World War II intact despite damage to other parts of the city.

Pistoia - Tuscany - Italian Capital of Culture 2017
