Check out this amazing drone video of Kazakhstan by baikenxx, a Drone Video of the Week and Month Winner in April 2019.  From the southern part of the country it includes footage of Sauran and Otyrar, the Akmeshit cave, the mausoleums of Arystan Bab and Kozha of Ahmed Yassawi. From western Kazakhstan you'll see footage of the Caspian Sea, the sacred sites of Becket Ata and Aday Ata. Explore the giant Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan in this fantastic video by AirVuz contributor CINEMADRONE, which was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in February of 2024.  The video opens with shots of the "Singing Dunes" of Altyn-Emel National Park in the southeastern corner of the country, followed by some epic views of the famous Charyn Canyon, also in southeast Kazakhstan.  The second half of the video was filmed in the Medeu Valley of the Trans-Ili Alatau mountain range near Almaty, a bit to the west.

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor curlysasha brings us this outstanding drone video from Kazakhstan.  The video was created in the course of a 1.5k mi. (about 2.5k km) trek through this giant Central Asian country, which was part of the USSR prior to that country's dissolution in the early 1990's.  The video includes some stunning footage of Lake Balkhash, which lies in the southeastern part of the country and is the 15th-largest lake in the world in surface aea.  You'll also see some of the country's deserts and canyons.

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot maga.fpv earned a spot on the FPV Pilots to Watch list in February of 2023 with this outstanding 2022 FPV reel, which was filmed in the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan.  At the :12 mark, you'll chase a fearsome-looking rollercoaster, then follow a parachuter jumping from a massive tower. Other highlights include some epic shots diving the skyscrapers of Almaty (Kazakhstan's largest city and former capital) and some surfing in the mountains outside of the city.

Check out this fantastic DVOW winning drone video from the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot baikensky.  At the :25 mark, there's a nice shot of the M-3 Bridge in Nur-Sultan, the national capital city, which was (until 2019) known as Astana.  At the :38 mark, you'll see the majestic Triumph of Astana building, with the giant tent known as the Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center in the background.  Other shots feature footage from Almaty's, Kazakhstan's commercial capital.

Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana) is the capital and second largest city of Kazakhstan, the Central Asian republic.  Since the capital was moved from Almaty in the late 1990's, Nur-Sultan has been more or less completely remade with new construction.  Contributor and pilot Dronex.pro created this amazing drone video of the gleaming city.  At the :30 mark is a climb sequence in which you'll see the top of the 2012 vintage, 64 story Emerald Towers I building: at 240 meters (about 780 ft.), it's one of the tallest buildings in Central Asia.

The Medeu is an outdoor skating rink on the outskirts of Almaty, the largest city in the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan.  The Zailiyskiy Alatau mountains in which the Medeu sits are some of the most amazing to be found in the entire region.   Contributor Azugla San used a drone to create a stunning video of the area and the skating rink, which is believed to be the largest in the world.  Almaty was the initial capital of Kazakhstan when the county became independent of the USSR in the early 1990's.

Contributor and pilot Azugla San used a DJI Phantom 4 drone to create this memorable aerial video of the spectacular Almaty Peak in the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan.  The mountain is situated just a few km/mi outside of Almaty, the former capital of the country prior to its relocation to Astana (now called Nur-Sultan) in 1997.  The peak stands about 2.2k meters (7.2k ft.) above sea level, a mere "midget" compared to Kazakhstan's highest peak: Khan Tengri stands over 7k meters above sea level (about 23k ft).

Almaty is the largest city in Central Asia.  Located in southeastern Kazakhstan, it was the capital of this Central Asian republic when Kazakhstan became independent from the Soviet Union in 1991, before the capital was relocated in 1997 to the planned city Astana (now Nur-Sultan) nearer the center of this vast land.  In this video, you'll get a bird's eye view of this amazing metropolis of nearly 2 million, situated in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau Mountains.  It was shot with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone, at sunset.

Much of the land area of the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan is arid.  Numerous named deserts run across this enormous country, the 9th largest in the world by land area.  Much of the rest of the country is mountainous, with the highest peaks rising to an elevation of just over 7k meters (23k ft.) above sea level.  This drone video reveals the "two Kazakhstans": opening with an epic shot of the shadows of some camels traipsing through the desert, it reveals the camels themselves, and then snow-capped mountains off in the distance.

Check out this drone video of a famous Russian Orthodox church in the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan, compliments of contributor Banshchikov.  It's called the Ascension Cathedral (also known as the Zenkov Cathedral), and it's located in Almaty, the country's largest city and one-time capital.  Located in Panfilov Park, on the eastern side of the city, the church was completed in 1907, when Kazakhstan was still part of the Russian Empire.  Standing just over 180 ft. tall (56 m), it's one of the world's tallest wooden buildings.

Top AirVuz conributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot EPIFANOVKZ brings us this stunningly cinematic FPV piece from the giant Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan.  The single-shot video was filmed flying toward the Ili River, which runs a course of about 900 mi. (a bit over 1.4k km).  It rises in the Tian Shan Mountains in northwestern China (whose peaks rise to altitudes of up to 24.4k ft. above sea level, or 7.4k m), emptying into giant Lake Balkhash in southeastern Kazakhstan.

The Ural River is the third longest river in Europe, after the Volga and the Danube.  It rises in the Ural Mountains in Russia, then passes through a portion of western Kazakhstan before discharging into the great Caspian Sea.  It's an immensely important natural resource to Kazakhstan, much of which is covered by desert.  In this drone video by contributor sekl, you'll get a bird's eye view of the great waterway as it meanders its way through Kazakhstan, the world's largest landlocked country.

Charyn Canyon is one of the natural wonders of Central Asia.  It's located in the southeastern corner of Kazakhstan, about 200 km (around 120 mi.) from its largest city (and erstwhile capital) Almaty.  Created by the Charyn River, the canyon runs a length about 80 km (around 50 mi.), and it reaches a maximum depth of about 300 meters (just under a thousand feet).  Seen here in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor dronogrom, the canyon is known for its colorful rock "sculptures" caused by erosion of its red sandstone.

Check out this drone video of the tallest skyscraper in Central Asia, compliments of AirVuz contributor Ahmedmmagdy.   It's the main tower in a mixed-use development called Abu Dhabi Plaza in the city of Nur-Sultan (formerly known as Astana), the capital of Kazakhstan.   The project was undertaken in partnership with the United Arab Emirates, hence its name.  The 75 story main tower stands  1.02k ft. tall or about 311 meters, making it the tallest building in the Central Asia region as of 2022.

The Almaty Tower is the tallest structure in the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan.  Seen here in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot dronogrom, the tower is located on Kok Tobe Mountain southeast of Almaty, the country's largest city and erstwhile capital.  Completed in 1983, the tower stands 373 meters tall (just over 1.2k ft.).  While most TV and radio towers are built of concrete, the Almaty tower is built of steel, and is the tallest steel tubular tower in the world.

Check out this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video from a famous canyon in Central Asia, compliments of AirVuz contributor TonyX.  It's called Charyn Canyon, and it's located in southeastern Kazakhstan, near the border with China.  Formed by the Charyn River, the canyon runs a length of about 50 mi. (around 90 km) in length.  Considered one of the natural treasures of Central Asia, it reaches depths of up to about 1k ft. (a bit over 300 m).  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in November of 2023.

Check out this wintertime drone video of a giant reservoir lake in the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan, compliments of EPIFANOVKZ.  The Kapchagay Reservoir is located in the Almaty region in the southeastern corner of the country.  Formed by a dam on the Ili River, the lake is 140 km long (about 85 mi.).  Due to the impact on water levels of Lake Balkhash (into which the Ili flows), the reservoir has not been filled to its capacity.  In the mean time, it's become one of the country's top recreational destinations.

The Expo 2017 (essentially, the World's Fair by another name) served in part as an international coming out party for the city of Astana, capital of the Central Asian republic of Kazakhstan.  The centerpiece of the exposition was the site you'll see in this excellent drone video by new AirVuz contributor EGYUAV Pilot.  Dominated by an impressive-looking sphere, the 62 acre site is located roughly between the city center to the north and the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport to the south.
