The  Hordaland region of southwestern Norway is home to Bergen, Norway's second largest city, as well as Hardangerfjord, its second largest fjord.  It is a magical place, of sparkling mountains and feeding gigantic glaciers into an endlessly long fjord.  Contributor JW Media spent a couple of days in Hordaland with his drone, and produced this stunning aerial video of an icy paradise in the heart of Scandinavia.

Celebrating Norway


Featuring plenty of gasp-worthy drone shots, literally on the edge of a fjord, this spectacular film reminds us of what's celebrated on Syttende Mai (known to the rest of us as Norway Constitution Day). The breathtaking views of this beautiful Nordic scenery are certainly reason enough to celebrate...kudos to simenhaughom, a young but very skilled Norwegian drone pilot, for capturing them all so perfectly.


The Seven Sisters Waterfall

The Seven Sisters waterfalls is a natural phenomenon which has to be seen to be believed.  It is a system of seven related waterdalls on the northern side of Geirangerfjorden, Norway. The tallest of the falls has an enormous free fall of 250 meters (820 ft).  Contributor Aerial Norway created this epic aerial video of the falls, taken in early summer when the snow melting from the mountain peaks swell the flow over the falls.


Lofoten Experience - "Make your life matter" (NORWAY DRONE 4K)


The stunning and dramatic landscapes of the Lofoten islands provide the perfect backdrop for this inspirational and powerful message. Contributor Eric_Avila_Gallardo used a DJI Mavic Air drone to create this epic aerial video of this most drone-able region in northern Norway.  A nominee for our Drone Video of the Week contest, this masterpiece inspires us all and provides a gentle reminder to focus on our greater purpose.


The Pulpit Rock

The Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen) is a major tourist attraction of Rogaland in the southwestern corner of Norway. The top of the rock, which is roughly 600 meters (2000 ft) above the base, is essentially a flat table from which tourists can view the Lysefjord fjord, one of Norway's biggest attractions.  Top contributor Grim Berge used a drone to treat us to a spectacular aerial view of this magnificent geological structure.

While Norway's largest city is in its southeastern region, most of the country's spectacular scenery lies on its west coast.  Along this long coastline lie a mind-boggling number of famous fjords, mountains, and towns and cities.  In this video, contributor Mohri Films used a drone to create an epic captioned aerial tour of the Atlantic coastline.  It includes bird's eye views of Sognefjord, Trollstigen, Lovatnet, and more.   


Flying over Oslo

At the end of the Oslofjord, in the southeastern part of Norway, lies its capital city Oslo.  The city was believed to be founded by Vikings in the 11th century.  It is the capital of Norway and the third largest city in Scandinavia after Stockholm and Copenhagen.  Contributor Anders Edholm flew a DJI Mavic Pro drone over this remarkable city on one of the great fjords of Norway, a city which hosted the 1952 Winter Olympics.



Grim Berge

Award winning contributor Grim Berge created this amazing film from Preikestolen, Norway, aka the Pulpit Rock.  Located in Rogalund County in the western part of the country, the rock features a nearly vertical cliff of over 600 meters (almost 2k ft.) down to the Lysefjorden.  Using mainly a DJI Inspire 2 drone (operated in some instances from a helicopter), the video recreates the Pulpit Rock scene in the latest addition to the Mission Impossible movie series. 


Ludovico Einaudi & Greenpeace "Elegy for the Arctic"

The creative potential of drones to tell powerful stories is astounding.  In this video, the acclaimed Italian composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi is filmed playing a piano on an iceberg broken off from the Wahlenbergbreen, a glacier on the coast of Svalbard, Norway.  The music video was created to build awareness of global warming and its visible consequences in the Arctic, and was selected as a finalist for the 2017 AirVuz Drone Video Awards in the Originality category.  


The Art of Drones Norway 4K Directors Cut

The Art Of Drones

For an aerial view of the spectacular natural scenery of western Norway, it's tough to beat this three and a half minute video by the Art of Drones.  The video was shot with a DJI Mavic Pro drone.  It features bird's eye views of some of the most iconic and popular spots in the heart of Norway's fjord country.  Highlights include Beseggen, Jotenheim National ParkKjerag, Trolltunga, Voringsvossen waterfall, Geiranger Fjord, and more.  


North Norway 4K


This epic video from Nikkelodeon will give you a sense for the pristine Arctic paradise to be found in northern Norway.  The video was shot across the entire northern part of the country, including the Lofoten Islands (which are the subject of a separate collection on AirVuz).   Northern Norway includes three counties, Nordland (which also includes the Lofoten Islands), Troms, and Finnmark; the latter two counties lie entirely north of the Arctic Circle.
