Landscapes of the American West
In this video, award winning contributor Jay Worsley created a masterpiece by brilliantly mixing astoundingly beautiful aerial footage from across the Western USA. The two spots which get top billing are the Pacific coastline of Oregon, and southern Utah. Brilliantly narrated, the video will take you over the enormous rocks that line the Oregon coastline as well as the spectacular formations of Moab. It's a Finalist in the Landscapes category for the second annual Annual Drone Video Awards.
America's Big 3 Coastal Cities
Strap yourself in for an aerial tour of America's three greatest coastal cities: Los Angeles and San Francisco on its West Coast and New York City on its East. The video begins with San Francisco before heading south to Los Angeles, since the 1920's the larger of the two California cities and since about 1980 America's Second City. Then, you'll jump roughly 4k km (around 2.5k mi.) across the country to New York City, the USA's largest city as well as its cultural and financial capital.
Northern California by Drone
This drone video by contributor Thatdroneview starts off by exploring the Presidio in San Francisco where the Golden Gate Bridge appears to float above dense Northern California fog. Shot with a DJI Phantom 4 Pro, the video then moves on to other classic Northern California spots like the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts and the Bixby Bridge on the famed Big Sur coastline. Prepare to be amazed by the bird's eye views of some of the most iconic sights in America.
When you think of the world's most famous waterfalls, Niagara Falls is near the top of the list. Situated on the border between Canada and the USA, it's a cataract system of three falls on the Niagara River, which connects two of North America's Great Lakes: Huron and Erie. At peak times, about 168k cubic meters (almost six million cu. ft.) of water flows over its 51 meter (167 ft.) drop every minute. In this video, you wil get a bird's eye view of the mighty waterfall, compliments of contributor Nonexistent Jay.
Drone Views of South Dakota
South Dakota is a lightly populated state in the Great Plains region of the United States. While it is amongst the top third of USA states in land area it has the fifth lowest population. It is a state of flat terrain and large farms to the east and a much more hilly and rugged environment to the west. Contributor Toby Brusseau treats us to an epic aerial tour of this great state, home of the famous Mt. Rushmore near Rapid City in the western part of the state.
New York City at Night
In this spectacular drone video, Majestic shows us that the only skyline scene more spectacular than that of Manhattan is that of Manhattan at night. The award winning contributor and aerial videographer gives us some epic views of the skyscrapers of Manhattan, as well as those of Jersey City, a sort of "satellite" city that lies across the Hudson River from the Big Apple. Using some nice editing techniques, he juxtaposes footage of the two cities to great effect.
DVOW Finalist from Utah
Prepare to be amazed by this aerial tour of the USA state of Utah, compliments of RobSkyHigh. The video was shot with a combination of the DJI Mavic Pro and Mavic Pro 2 drones, and contains some excellent timelapse footage. Most of the video was shot in the portion of the state covered by the Rocky Mountains, with some footage of its desert portions as well. This piece was chosen as a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week contest in April, 2019.
USA Pro Drone Reel
From the fields, to the coast, to the city this aerial reel by Lyfted Media has a little bit of everything. Lead Pilot and Founder Jimmy Olivero has been shooting aerial cinematography since 2007 and now has affiliates in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City. The drone footage of the St Louis Arch, Brooklyn Bridge and New York City skyline, and other iconic sites around the great expanse of the USA are standouts in this Drone Video of the Week Winner.
Minnesota: Land of 10k Lakes
In the far north of the Midwestern state of Minnesota is the Boundary Water Canoe Area (BWCA). The BWCA is a one million acre preserve that is contained within Superior National Forest, close to the US border with Canada. With its pristine and vehicle free environment, the BWCA has attracted an avid base of adventurers eager to enjoy the great outdoors through canoeing and camping. Contributor Sky Candy Studios created this epic drone video of this amazing preserve.
Hawaii by Drone
In this video, top contributor Haussmannvisuals treats us to bird's eye views of three of the main islands of Hawaii: Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii (aka the Big Island). He captured the footage using two drones: a DJI Phantom 4 Pro and a Mavic Pro. He encountered some unusually strong winds during his time there, which makes the resulting video all the more impressive. Feast your eyes on these marvelous bird's eye views of America's 50th state!
Dronelapse of Alaska
Using a DJI Mavic 2 Pro, alaska42 shows us the amazing views he sees right in his own backyard - Wasilla, Alaska. Located northeast of Anchorage, it is the sixth-largest city in the USA's 49th state. The town has recent political currency; former Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin served as Mayor here before becoming Governer. The area is absolutely majestic with its fall colors, frozen rivers, and snow-capped mountains that are featured throughout this Drone Video of the Week nominee.
California: The Golden State
Head west with contributor Deniz to the golden state of California in this beautifully cinematic drone video from a trip to America's Golden State. He traveled through its northern and southern regions to capture aerial footage of all its great features. From the prickly cactus-filled deserts, to the famous pier of Santa Monica, to the winding roads of San Francisco, and to the waves of the Pacific, he really captured the true essence of California in this Drone Video of the Week nominee.
West Virginia Aerials
West Virginia enjoys the distinction of being the only state which lies entirely within the great Appalachian mountain chain which forms the border between the USA's Eastern Seaboard and the Midwest. The state was formed at the outset of the Civil War when the western part of Virginia elected to remain in the Union. Contributor Inmotionaerial created this beautiful aerial tour of this largely rural state during the peak of the Fall, a time when the tree-covered state turns into a sea of colors.
New Hampshire in the Fall
Known for being one of the best locations in the United States to see the leafs change, the northeastern state of New Hampshire looks marvelous in this Drone Video of the Month Staff Pick. Whether it be shots of the sun peaking over the mountains, close-up, reveal, and top-down shots of the fall foliage, or panoramics of the colors mirrored along the water, drone pilot Armandom's video knocks it out of the park.
Spring Break in Florida
Contributor Tarcy_Vision created an unforgettable aerial tour of Miami and the Gold Coast of Southern Florida during Spring Break, a time of year when many of the state's beaches and cities are flooded with college students. Although somewhat more subdued compared to its heyday in the 1970's, it's still considered one of the prime Spring Break destinations. This amazing video was shot with a DJI Mavic Air drone, who video quality is astonishing given its diminutive size.
Chesapeake Bay's Bridge
When it opened in the early 1950's, Chesapeake Bay Bridge was the longest over-water span in the world at 6.9 km (4.3 mi.). Now a dual span bridge, it connects Maryland's eastern and western shores of Chesapeake Bay. Contributor Eyes in the Sky used a drone to create this impressive aerial video of this impressive steel span, officially known as the Gov. William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge. The bridge was the filming location for a high profile scene in the 2006 movie Mission: Impossible III.
The Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon on the Colorado River in the Southwestern USA state of Arizona is the world's deepest canyon, with a maximum depth of amost 2,000 meters (over 6k ft.). It will get many votes for being the most visually stunning. Especially at sunset, and ESPECIALLY when filmed aerially with a drone. Los Angeles: USA's Second City
Contributor Tommy Choi used a drone to make this highly imaginative aerial video of Los Angeles, America's great Second City. Using a variety of editing techniques, his video shows us the towering skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles (including the new Wilshire Grand tower, the city's tallest) and the nearby Southern California shoreline from an amazing new perspective. This video was a finalist for the AirVuz Drone Video of the Week Contest in 2018.
Kansas Aerial Reel
Kansas is a Midwestern USA state that lies close to the geographic center of the country. The western part of the state (by far the majority of its overall land area) is part of the Great Plains and is one of the principal wheat growing areas of the USA. Award winning contributor Doug A used a drone to create this spectacular reel about the landscape of the Sunflower State, whose vast rolling wheatfields are the Breadbasket of America.
Chicago: America's Erstwhile Second City
For a 60 second aerial tour of downtown Chicago, it's hard to beat this video by Reel Aerials. Washington: The Evergreen State
Washington State is situated in the the northwest corner of the United States, bordering the Canadian province of British Columbia. The Evergreen State has some of the greatest landscape diversity of any state, with vast pine forests, towering volcanic mountain peaks, and a large desert in the eastern part of the state. Contributor Explorewashingtonstate does just that with this great aerial tour of this amazing state in the northwestern corner of the continental USA.
Colorado from Above
With much of its area covered by the Rocky Mountains, the state of Colorado was endowed with more than its share of the beauty of the United States. If you need any convincing, this stunning aerial montage of the Centennial State by the World Travel Guy should do the trick. It includes footage from some of the state's top sites, including Ten Mile Creek, Bangs Canyon, American Basin, Bear Creek Falls, and more. It also includes footage of Mt. Elbert, the Rockies' highest peak at 4.4k meters (14.4k ft.).
Philadelphia: City of Brotherly Love
Contributor ChrisDantonio used a Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian to create this epic drone video of Philadelphia's skyline. Once limited by the height of its City Hall, the city now has one of the country's most impressive skylines. At the :20 mark, you'll see the city's five tallest buildings, from left to right: Comcast Technology Center, Comcast Center, the BNY Mellon Building, One Libert Place, and Two Liberty Place. All have been built since 1987, when the informal height restriction was lifted.
Flying over Tennessee
The Smoky Mountain range in the United States is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which in turn is part of the Appalachian system. The Smoky's are home to some of the most spectacular fall scenery in the country. The range covers parts of several southeastern states in rolling forested mountains that turn brilliant colors from mid-September through October. Top contributor used a drone to film these beautiful mountains in the state of Tennessee at the height of the Fall color season.
Dallas, Texas: The Big D
Dallas, Texas, known as “The Big D,” is the center of the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex, one of the largest metro areas in the United States. Thanks in part to recent investments in massive stadium complexes, Dallas-For Worth can lay credible claim to being the sports capital of the USA. AirVuz produced this mini-documentary of the Dallas sports scene, which features aerial views of the impressive Dallas skyline as well as AT&T Stadium, Global Life Park, American Airlines Arena, and more.
Maine, Sam Kolder Inspired
Maine is situated in the northeastern corner of New England, which is to say the northeastern corner of the United States. The largest of the New England states by land area, Maine is quite distinct from a cultural standpoint, and in some respects bears close resemblance to Canada's maritime provinces which lie just to the north of it. In this amazing Sam Kolder Inspired video, contributor Thelordroachvlogs gives us an excellent bird's eye view of the Pine Tree State.
Atlanta: Hub of Southeastern USA
Top contributor BBloss created this fantastic one minute aerial tour of Atlanta, the informal regional capital of the Southeastern USA. Situated in north central Georgia, the city is the center of a vast metropolitan area which numbers up to 7 million depending on definition. Atlanta is home to the world's busiest airport, and is a major corporate headquarters city. It is home to three central business districts (Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead) as well as numerous satellite "mini-cores" in its suburbs.
Detroit: America's Motor City
Detroit, Michigan is on the Detroit River, which connects Lake Huron and Lake Erie of the Great Lakes. It's the second largest city in the Midwest after Chicago. Since the days of Henry Ford, it's been the center of the worldwide automobile industry and so nicknamed "Motown". As employment in the car industry has contracted, the city has seen dramatic changes to its urban landscape. is currently enjoying a sort of renaissance, as you'll see in this awesome drone video from SpaceJam Studios.
Nashville: Country Music Capital
Nashville is a city on the Cumberland River in the state of Tennessee in the southeastern United States. Nashville is the largest city in Tennessee, and for years has been one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. In this impressive video, contributor BBloss flies a drone over Nashville and creates a beautiful aerial portrait of this city, whose Grand Ole Opry venue is known as the worldwide center of the multibillion dollar country music industry.
Autumn Foliage in Vermont
New England in the northeastern USA is known for its brilliant colors in Autumn. Among the states of the region, Vermont is the smallest but also is blessed with thick forests. In this video, contributor Green Mountain Drone treats us to an aerial view of Fall in the state of Vermont with footage of Groton State Forest at Kettle Pond State Park, Boulder Beach State Park and Owl's Head State Park. Famously, Vermont was the first state after the original 13 Colonies to join the United States.
New Orleans: The Big Easy
New Orleans, Louisiana is one of the oldest major cities in the Southeastern United States, and the largest up until the US Civil War. Situated near the mouth of the Mississippi River, New Orleans continues to have a hold on the American imagination, particularly so after the devastating Hurricane nearly leveled parts of the city and killed at least 1,000 people (possibly many more) in 2005. The Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia
Contributor LUX used a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone to create this stunning aerial view of the fog-covered Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, USA. The Blue Ridge is a sub-range of the Appalachian chain which runs roughly parallel to the USA's East Coast. The Blue Ridge run through several states, with its largest portions lying in Virginia and North Carolina. The name "Blue Ridge" derives from the bluish appearance of the peaks seen from a distance, a result of isoprene released from the mountains' trees.
Cleveland, Ohio: Buckle of the Rust Belt
Cleveland, Ohio is one of the largest cities in the USA's Midwest. It is situated on the southern shore of Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes. Cleveland was once known as the Buckle of the Rustbelt for its leading role in America's key manufacturing sectors. While it is still a leading industrial center, the city has seen its waterfront transformed in recent years with new stadiums and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cape Cod: Where the Mayflower Landed
Cape Cod extends from the Massachusetts mainland in a great arc that sweeps out into the Atlantic Ocean. At its tip is Provincetown, the site of the historic Mayflower landing in 1620. Cape Cod is one of the most popular tourist spots in New England in the summer. While Cape Cod is naturally connected to the mainland, the construction of the Cape Cod Canal in the early 1900's separated the cape. Pittsburgh: America's Steel City
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is the largest city within the Appalachian region of the USA. It sits at the point where the Allegheny River joins the Monangahela to form the Ohio. The city rose to prominence as the center of the US steel industry, once the country's biggest economic engine. Perspectrum used a DJI Inspire 2 drone to create this impressive aerial video of the city's skyscrapers, which include the headquarters of US Steel - at one point the world's largest corporation.

Guam: US South Pacific Territory
Contributor Endless Aerial used a drone to create this epic 4k bird's eye view of Guam, an island in the South Pacific. Guam, along with the nearby Northern Mariana Islands which lie to its northeast, is a territory of the United States, which was granted control of the islands following the Spanish American War. The video will give you a sense of the beautiful landscape of this island in the Micronesia region, which also includes Palau, the Marshall Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia.
The US Virgin Islands
St. Thomas is the northwesternmost of the three Caribbean islands known as the US Virgin Islands. It lies just to the west of St. John and some distance to the north of St. Croix, the largest of the group. While opinions differ, St. Thomas is generally considered the most beautiful of USVI's. In this drone video by Jtcfilms, you'll get a bird's eye view of this bit of Caribbean paradise. It was filmed from the Marriott in Frenchman's Cove and the surrounding areas.
Puerto Rico: America's Caribbean Island
After traveling throughout the world, contributor Thatdroneview will always call Puerto Rico one of his favorite places. The boundless chances for adventure, the stunning views of crystal clear water, the mangrove-lined beaches, and the jade-colored mountains which attract him to the US territory are all captured in this drone video.
