White Cliffs of Dover

oszibusz...

The famed White Cliffs of Dover are one of the most iconic sites of the United Kingdom.  Seen from above in this fantastic drone video by oszibusz, the cliffs are situated on the narrowest part of the English Channel.  Rising to a height of up to 110 meters (350 ft.), they stretch for about 8 km (around 5 mi.) on either side of their namesake town.  A long-time symbol of Britain's separation from the Continent of Europe, the Cliffs have made countless appearances in English literature, most notably in Shakespeare's King Lear.

More Fun At Pilgrim! - FPV FREESTYLE

elbuhofpv...

First person view (FPV) pilot elbuhofpv brings us this rather haunting FPV tour of what was once the world's largest mental hospital: the Pilgrim Psychiatric Center on Long Island, east of New York City.  At its peak after War II, the facility had nearly 14,000 residents.  Now mostly abandoned, the facility was a filming location for the 1985 movie Murder by Reason of Insanity and it was referenced in Allen Ginsburg's classic poem, Howl.  This Freestyle FPV flight put elbuhofpv on our AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list in November of 2019.

DRONEing - Chesil Beach and Fleet Lagoon - Weymouth UK

DRONEing...

Chesil Beach is a long, narrow, pebble-covered beach west of Weymouth on England's southern coast in County Dorset; it and the Fleet Lagoon which it creates are part of the legendary Jurassic Coast.  You can see Chesil from above in this drone video by contributor and pilot DRONEing; at about the 1:05 mark, you'll see one of the pillboxes installed here during World War II in anticipation of a possible German invasion.  The beach was later the setting for Ian McEwan's 2007 novella, On Chesile Beach.

In to the MYSTICAL Valley of the ROCKS with DRONE

Marian Pec...

The North Devon District in southwest England is known for its dramatic cliffs, wild seas, and sandy beaches. The coastal area features incredible sand dunes, rocky coves and medieval towns, making it a great spot for a getaway. In this drone video by Marian Peciar, you'll get some great aerial views of a North Devon spot called Valley of the Rocks.  It's a valley that runs parallel to the North Devon coastline near the town of Lynton.  The valley was one of the settings for the 1869 classic Lorna Doone by R. D. Blackmore.

Jaman Must...

The setting for this dronie by Jaman Mustafa is the English seaside town of Weymouth.  Situated in County Dorset on the English Channel, Weymouth is roughly in the middle of and is the prime gateway to the Jurassic Coast, a 150 km (around 90 mi.) stretch along the English Channel that is a UNESCO World Heritage site.  Weymouth is well-mentioned in English literature, famously as the "South Wessex" town of Budmouth in a number of Thomas Hardy Novels.

'City of Padua' - italy

Mauro Scia...

Top contributor Mauro Sciambi gives us this unique perspective of the great Italian city of Padua.  Featuring gimbal-stabilized as well as first person view (FPV) drone footage, the video opens with shots of the city's two most iconic locations: the oval known as the Prato della Valle, and the Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua.  Later on, you'll fly along the Bacchiglione River and tear through the city's great public squares.  Located about 25 mi. (around 40 km) west of Venice, Padua was the setting for Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.

County Sligo Ireland

Dronescape...

Check out these stunning aerial views of Ireland's County Sligo, compliments of Drone Photogaphy Ireland. Sligo is located in the northwestern part of the island, with a coastline along the Wild Atlantic Way.  The video opens with an epic shot of Classiebawm Castle, a 19th century manor house on the Mullaghmore Peninsula.  Then it's on to the star of the show: the flat-topped Benbulbin rock formation.  Considered one of Ireland's great natural and cultural treasures, it featured prominently in the works of the great 19th century poet W.B. Yeats.
