The port city of Hamburg in northern Germany is one of the keys to the country's export-oriented economy.  The city is home to the largest German Seaport and the second largest in the entire European Union.  Lying on a river about 110 km (around 70 mi) upstream from the North Sea, the city is the core of a metropolitan area of about 5 million, the second largest in Germany after Berlin.  New Entertainment Pictures created this magnificent drone video of the great city on the River Elbe.

The German capital Berlin was arguably the most important city in the world in the 20th century.  It was the capital of Germany when the country plunged into World Wars I-II, and was (in divided form) the likely flash point for a World War III which (fortunately) did not occur.  Berlin is now the capital of a country which is one of the pillars of international peace and stability.  Here is a magnificent aerial tour of the great city on the Elbe, complements of New Entertainment Pictures.

The Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church in Berlin,  aka the Berlin Dom, is one of the most recognized sites in the German capital city.  It was built in 1905, when Berlin was at the peak of its imperial splendor under Kaiser Wilhelm II.  In this video, content creator Raf Neo used a DJI MAvic Pro drone to create an aerial tour of this amazing structure in the Museum Island area of the city, which was in the Western sector and surrounded by the Berlin Wall for decades.  


German Alps Shot For The First Time: Berchtesgadener Land


The area of the Alps Mountain range located in southern Germany is often called the Bavarian Alps.  It is home to some of the most amazing natural scenery in Germany.  In this video, contributor  BashirAbuShakra used a drone to create an aerial tour of this landscape including drone footage of  Berchtesgadener, St. Bartholomä, Jenner, Lake Obersee, Röthbach Waterfall-Obersee, Hintersee, and more.  


Castle Cochem


Cochem Castle, built in the 12th century, lies on the Moselle River in the Rhineland area of western Germany.  It is cradled on a hilltop that offers panoramic views of Cochem village and the surrounding landscape of the Rhineland-Palatinate state.  Contributor Stefan Beumer flew his drone over the castle and the village, creating this spectacular aerial view of the magnificent landmark, which was destroyed in the 17th century and rebuilt in the 19th. 


Neuschwanstein 4K with Phantom4


Neuschwanstein Castle is one of the most recognized sites in Bavaria and indeed in all of Germany.  The 19th century masterpiece was commissioned by the Bavarian King Ludwig as a summer residence.  Contributor Smartfan used a DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone to create this memorable aerial view of this iconic castle in Southern Germany, which served as the model for the fairytale castle constructed at Disney Land.


Start of Spring in Germany


Algau is a region of Swabia in the far south of Bavaria, Germany, near the border with Austria.  It is a place of stunning snow covered mountain peaks, alpine lakes, and fairy tale forests.  Top contributor and drone pilot Eye-Catchography flew a drone over the area just as winter was ebbing and spring was beginning to bloom.  The aerial video, captured at the most beautiful time of year, is simply breathtaking.  


Empty village of Immerath in Germany


Immerath is a small village in the Rhineland Palatinate state in western Germany.  This is the heart of Germany's coal country, which feeds the country's coal-fired power plants and supplies coke to its giant its steel mills.  In connection with the expansion of a coal mine, the citizens of the village have been relocated.  Contributor Martijneier flew his drone over this ancient village, creating a surreal aerial view of a mysterious looking ghost town. 


Heidelberg, Germany


Contributor Frankiez used his DJI Mavic Pro Drone to create this lovely aerial view of the medieval city of Heidelberg, in the Badan-Wurtemberg state of southwestern Germany.   You'll get a marvelous bird's eye view of Heidelberg Castle, built in the 13th century and one of the most famous castles in Europe.  In 1622, Heidelberg was the site of an important battle during the early part of the Thirty Years War, in which the Spanish Imperial Army led by the Count of Tilly beseiged and overcame the city.


Castles in Baden-Württemberg


Baden-Wurtemberg is a German state in the southerwestern part of the country.  It lies along the  Rhine River, which (with its tributaries such as the Moselle) serves as a borderland with France.  It includes natural scenery such as the Black Forest, what it is known for as much as anything is castles.  In this video, contributor Stephen Beumer used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create an aerial tour of some of the marvelous castles of the Rhine Valley.  


Düsseldorf - Germany 4K

Dusseldorf is the capital city of North-Rhine-Westphalia, a state in western Germany.  It both a manufacturing center and a hub for international trade, particularly in fashion.  It is also home to many important German educational institutions.  Top contributor Alex Assenmacher used a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone to create a bird's eye view of this city in the heart of the Rhineland.   


The Beauty of Winter


Algau is a region in the Bavarian Alps of Germany.  While its scenery is stunning year round, winter is perhaps its most beautiful season.  With endless snow covered pine trees, the landscape becomes an iconic winter wonderland.  Contributor Eye-Catchgraphy used a drone to create a marvelous aerial view of this magical winter landscape.  Watching the time-lapse footage, you can almost smell the crisp mountain air.

Black Forest Germany - Karma Drone & GoPro Hero 6

Daniel Gavrilas used a GoPro Karma drone to give us this beautiful aerial view of the Black Forest.  Situated in the southwestern corner of Germany, it is the source countless children's fairytales.   The Black Forest marks the divide between the Rhine River basin to its west and the Danube basin to its east.  As can be seen in the video, these forest-covered mountains are interspersed with idyllic small German towns.  


Wendelstein by drone 4K


Wendelstein is a medium sized mountain peak in Bavaria, the southernmost region of Germany.  It is part of the Mangfall Mountains, which form part of the Alps Mountain system.  While not the largest ski area in Germany, Wendelstein does have one area for experienced skiers.  Contributor On Focus used a DJI Phantom drone to give us a beautiful aerial tour of this alpine paradise.

Contributor Yekalay used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create this aerial tour of Cologne, the most populous city in Germany's Rhineland region and the home of one of the world's most famous cathedrals.  The city is situated on the middle Rhine River in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, between Dusseldorf and Bonn .  Cologne was one of the biggest targets of Allied bombing in World War II; the Cathedral was hit 14 times and required massive postwar repair.


Ein Tag in Frankfurt am Main


Contributor Haussmannvisuals put together this magnificent compilation of aerial footage of Frankfurt in western Germany.  The city was settled in Roman times, and became one of the most important free cities in the Holy Roman Empire.  Absorbed into Germany in the 1860's, it ceded financial leadership to Berlin, but regained it following Germany's reunification.  The video features impressive aerial footage of the central business district on the Main River as well as the upstream ECB headquarters.


Frankfurt am Main in One Day | Drone & GoPro Footage


Nohesitations used a combination of drone and ground camera footage to record this chronicle of a brief trip to Frankfurt, in western Germany.  Frankfurt is on the Main River (the largest tributary of the Rhine), in the state of Hesse in west-central Germany.  It's the fifth largest city in Germany, and the third largest in western Germany after Hamburg and Cologne.  It's known best of all for being a financial center, by some measures the second largest in Europe after London.  


Dom St Peter 雷根斯堡教堂, Regensburg,Germany


Regensburg is the fourth largest city in Bavaria, Germany's southern region.  It's most prominent landmark is the Regensburg Cathedral, a 16th century structure in the old city center on the Danube River.  The cathedral escaped serious damage from a famous bombing raid on Regensburg's aircraft factory during World War II.   Contributor Minglam created this amazing drone video of the architectural marvel.

Using a DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone, Oggy created this beautiful aerial video of Duisburg and Oberhausen, two important cities of Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia state in its Rhineland region.  Duisberg is Germany's 15th largest city.  It lies at the confluence of the Rhine and Ruhr rivers in the industrial heartland of the country.  Oberhausen, the smaller of the two cities, is situated a bit to the northeast, roughly equidistant from Duisenberg and Essen.
